I'll post up a picture of the Perrin stubby 3" antenna tomorrow. I personally think the shark fin looks out of place on a hatchback.

Do what you like, its your car. Were just a bunch of grumpy old men on here who bought the car for safety/mpg over looks.

My opinion is as long as its not black-out tinted, it doesnt affect output light that much.

Good luck.

PS... look up Wes_88, i think he has a 5dr with tinted tails.

So I got my first ticket for front driver/passanger window tint. Came out to $197

I did get also get a warning about putting on a front L's plate.

I have 25% all around.

Apparently in California, you can't have any tint unless it was done by the manufacturer when you first purchased the vehicle.

Only on the front two windows...you can tint any of the rear if it didn't come factory but you're limited to whatever percentage is legal.

The south is much more relaxed, 27% is legal in my state but I've got 15% all the way around and never have a problem.

What?! $200? that sucks. Thats about how much tint costs to install. Are you going to remove tint, or leave it?

I live in LA and have 30% on driver and front passenger windows and the rest are 5% I drive pass police all the time with no problem. The tint shop I got mine from was Fresh tint, $280 for 11 windows (small triangles count) Llumar tint with 40% heat reduction. Shop even said if I get ticketed they would take the front off for free and replace em once inspection was done. Real cool shop!

$280 is expensive!!!! I got 15% all the way around (9 windows) plus the front visor strip and only paid $200...would have been cheaper if I went with the legal 27%.

So has anyone in this thread or the whole of NASIOC installed the Cobb adjustable short shifter and bushings for the 2012 impreza 2.0?
Ive searched this whole thread and haven't been able to confirm that this has happened.
I have asked the guys at Cobb and they said it doesn't fit, but some people say any 11+ wrx shifter will work for our imprezas. Can anyone confirm this?
I really want get the Cobb adjustable and bushings but no one has confirmed this.
Thanks!!

Could've gone with 3M brand tint for any shade of tint but it only had 10% heat reduction for $180 but opted for the Llumar with 40% heat reduction. The shade of the tint wasn't what made it more expensive, it was the heat reduction aspect. Which is important cause I live in the very sunny San Fernando Valley of LA County. Lol

On the topic of tint, does anyone with 3M tint have scratches at the top of the front windows?

Yeah the place I take my cars uses formula one and they said 3M sucks. They make good products but tint, evidently isn't one of them!

Wouldn't that be an installation problem and not the product?

I was thinking its either the product being susceptible to scratches or there's nothing protecting the windows on that top portion of the window.

Anyone else on here with another brand of tint have any scratches like mine?

I don't think the brand of tint is the problem in your case. I have 3M tint and have no issue with scratches and I see a lot of high-end tint shops around my area using 3M tint without any quality issues. I read in a BMW forum that the scratch you see might be a rubber residue from the upper window seal and it may be wiped off with rubbing alcohol (http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthr...=268658&page=2). If it is indeed a true scratch then you might want to install a mole skin/felt strip that can be applied to the seal to prevent window seal from scratching the tint.

I just checked my upper window seal and it looks like it is made of hard rubber w/o mole skin/felt lining. The lower window seals have this felt lining.

If you are looking for a tinting job in Seattle area I highly recommend Emerald City Tinting in Queen Anne. I got a great deal through groupon and was skeptical at first, but came out impressed with their service and quality of work.
