So I talked to my dealer's sales manager and I'm number 2 in line since the first order was a base and just got picked up. The one who ordered before me is also waiting on a limited with no VIN yet (both early March orders ) he explained in detail how the process works and it sounds like it will likely be on the next future boat shipment.

Ha, that's nothing. Fairfield, Ca Subaru has a 10K markup on a black premium cvt. Total price is just under 40k. What a bunch of idiots. Checked Elk Grove, CA Subaru, and they have all of theirs marked up 5k. Do they sell this car through Costco lol?

Dealers where not moving on MSRP and going a little over here, then we formed a group and got them to match VIP pricing. I suggest you do the same in your area.

I was the opposite. I wanted a base model so I could pick and choose what I wanted since I did not want leather and a sunroof. It really comes down to preferences. The only things I really wanted on the car can all be added as accessories (short throw shifter, fog lights, etc). I am glad Subaru lets me do this vs spending thousands more for items I won't use or don't want.

I think some dealers smell blood with this being a new model and are trying to get full price. I am sure lots of people are paying it to. |

Thanks for the replies. One more quick question. I really want the LED lights but the leather not so much. Did the limited last year come with LEDs, and was it an easy swap to a wrx without them? Im just concerned with the leveling, wiring, and some of the other stuff Ive read about aftermarket LEDs making me want to just get the Limited. Thanks for the input.

@OP- I was under the impression, while building a wrx on Subaru's website, that you can only get the push start on a limited. You also have to have the navi/hk package too. Is that not the case? You got the push start on a premium?

Because its worth it. To buy the LED headlight housings and put them on a premium would cost more than the 1,000 extra you pay for LED and leather...so worth it to me, just wait..everyone will be crying because they wish they had the LED lights

Per the LED question, if you really want them you should plan on just getting a Limited. Trying to add things like this to the Premium get costly and you might as well just pony up for the Limited if it is something you really want. |

Subaru really pulled a €|^{*}>{ on that one. Since this is the first model year, I might go base just to teach them a lesson lol :OP If anything, it allows time to let the platform mature and I can upgrade later. But this is all just scorned buyer talk lol |

Sorry, I did not think it was worth $80 more a month on my car payment to get LED lights. I think the LED's are nice to have but the Limited is almost $4K more than the base. So if you don't want leather, sunroof, etc it is not worth it. If you want leather and a sunroof then the Limited is a nobrainer vs trying to add that stuff aftermarket.

maybe, the leather does seem a but better this time around. Idk I didn't care much on my 2011 and I don't really care that much now. I wouldn't be surprised if LED headlights become a cheap thing to add i te future since they seem less complex than HIDs, which also aren't a huge deal to add

I didn't really want leather but I want the sunroof heated seats and heated windshield (have this on my 2010 and now must have this) I also must have the led headlights, so I'm opting for the leather. I wish they gave you a choice between leather and cloth on the limited, but the leather does look pretty nice.

Took home the silver one I was talking about. The system (440watt w/Harmon Kardon amp/speakers, with the Kicker 10" powered sub), doesn't sound all bad. It's not spectacular or anything, but it is decently crisp in sound, and bass hits pretty nice.
To anyone thinking about buying the 2015 STI, do it!! At least go and test drive one. They feel very refined. I was pleasantly surprised. Also, pictures don't do then justice. They look good in person. |
