Default Want to trade my WRX wagon for an Outback wagon. Are I dumb?

I am getting the itch to replace my 02 wagon again. Frankly I'm tired of the interior, it is ****ty, and it's small. Is an '06+ Outback's interior any better? I also don't want to have to put in premium gas anymore. Is the NA 4-banger in the Outback weaksauce or what? If I go for the Outback, should I dive on the 3.0 liter?

Anyone with a newer Outback, do you like it? What don't you like about it?

Do you realize that if you put in 10 gallons of gas, you're only paying 3 bucks more for premium?

AND, that the 2.5's and the 3.0's get equal or worse MPG's than the 2.0t?

Are you fat? I think the wagon interior in my WRX is spacious.

I drove one 6700mi across country this summer. Loved it. Loved everything about it. The non 3.3 was more than adequate, especially when I had to lose that road-raging psychopath in a Saturn.

Premium is about reason #12 for me.

I wasn't talking about space for me. I was talking overall space. It's cramped in there. I'd like to get 4 adults in my car periodically for fishing/boarding and not have it feel like a clown car. I am 6'5" and nobody can sit behind me without one of us being very uncomfortable. 3 people is really the max as long as one of them is well under 6'0".

Also, the interior is getting ****ty. The seats just cling to any and all dirt, hair, dust, etc. I really want leather, but think I have to get the higher end Outback to get leather.

I also think the new Outbacks look awesome. Especially the blue.

I am gonna have to go ahead and agree with you there.

Change for space? Yes. Trying to get better mileage? No.

It would be a definite upgrade in space. If that's your number 1 reason, do it.

If you want more space and better MPG, you'll need to change brands. If you only want more space the Outback should work. But I don't think you'll be finding MPG nirvana. I had a loaner Forester with the 2.5 for a week and it got the same or crapper mileage than my 2002 WRX.

My co-worker recently bought a Mazda 5. It seems like a pretty good combination of size and thriftiness. Although the interesting version doesn't come with a MT . And you may or may not be turned off by the rear sliding doors and non-awdness.
