Why is it called a scooby?

Is a Scooby just an affectionate term for any Subaru? Or it it just the Impreza line?

And there's going to be a Scooby Doo movie next year.

At least that's what the trailer advertised today when I went to see Harry Potter. Maybe SoA was smart enough to plant some Subies for Scooby and his friends to drive around in.
