![]() I'm looking for somebody to fabricate a pipe to replace the two catalytic converters on my singleport 97 2.2 AWD Impreza coupe. All it needs to be is the following:
stainless steel have both o2 bungs have header mounting flange have midpipe mounting flange 2" od piping (oem exhaust od) It's as simple as that. The pipe I'm wanting should be quite interchangable between different years and models, so many people should be able to fabricate it on their own car and ship it to me if need be it. I'm also willing to take my car to you if you insist. If you want some easy money and a big thanks, I'm very interested in providing! In case I don't know, does anybody already make a pipe like this (Stromung track pipe)?

![]() why not just buy a stromung track pipe? i wouldnt see the need to have someone else do it, and have to wait for them to fab the whole thing then ship it to you. i dont think it would necessarily be much cheaper or anything, and the work that goes into the stromung pipes is good.

![]() preachin to the choir. only problem is that no shop around here will remove cats; not even the little mom and pop shops. hell, most of the places around here have trouble with flanges, let alone bungs. its like i live in some parallel dimension of retards. if i had a pipe bender or knew someone who did, then i could easily do it myself, but i dont, so im screwed.

idk how it is around where you live, but i am far from confident in the skills of the local exhaust shops around here. however, a local shop reopened that uses stainless and a mandrel bender, but ive never went through them, so i might try that place. |

![]() no
you bring your car, say you want that pipe there in whatever size metal etc you want catless, but you will only be using it for track events not on the road and they will not be installing it just fitting it to make sure it fits on the car. As i said it might work or it might not, hence a performance car shop that welds would be easier to do it. since i dont know where you live i cant say, but if you dont try the shop how do you know they suck? did you ask other people around where your from? |

![]() well, i would say most exhaust shops dont use full SS stuff. At least all of the ones i know of use alumiumized steel. Making those SS flanges would be a pain for a one off set. you would be better off having a bunch laser cut. then the tubing is like 15 bucks a foot
![]() i would say have a local make it out of what ever he can and run it. i had a "test pipe" on my truck and it lasted well over 4 years before it died. and for 70 bucks it was worth it ![]() Shane |
