Hey guys, I just logged on and read your posts about the meet. I would've been down, but I was a little late in finding the thread. Are any of you guys going to the SCCA meet in Atwater on 4/7? I meet Matt and Brad there in Feb.

That's too bad you won't be able to make it out to an event for a while. I haven't been out there since Feb, but I'm really itching to head out there this time around. I've done a few mods since last time and I'm curious to see how the Rex responds. You'll definitely have to make sure you're representin' come May.

What happened to you and Brad on Sunday? I ended up heading back to Fresno from LA on Saturday night so I could make the event on Sunday morning. There were three WRXs out there and one GC8 2.5RS.

So Sean, spill the beans on what's going on with your car. Are you going to move into ESP with Brad and I? Or are you going STX?

I haven't been to stoked about auto-crossing here lately because of all the parts I have ordered aren't here yet. I think my parts supplier is taking me for a ride. When is the next one? is it the 14th? later Brad.

I think I did pretty well for my second time out there...I know I was within a tenth of some doods in ASP so I'm excited about that. I still haven't gotten my damn sway bars yet so I was pushing all over the track AGAIN...RE-92s + stock rear sway bar = you suck in ESP! I didn't get any points for the first auto-x because I forgot my SCCA license so I guess you are still one event up on me! The next event is the 21st...but I'm sure you don't want to go because I'll be out town!

BTW, I still don't have any power mods....just lowering springs and stock everything else

Hey everyone!

Nice to see some central valley people on here I'm from Fresno and just wanted to drop by and send an invite to any central valley people who are interested in stopping by our little meet on April 28th, Sunday @ 12:30 pm. Right now, it's mainly S2000's, but our little meet will be open to everyone. We're not discriminating on anyone(well, maybe except domestics just kidding) . We're all car ethusiasts, and we'd love to check out some WRX's. I have seen a silver one around Herndon and Fruit......anyone here? Sweet car and color! I have a silver '02 S2000.....hope to see some of you guys around Fresno. The meet will be at Woodward park. For out of towners, I'll be posting up directions soon on our club site: www.cvs2ks.com Complete details on the meet can be found on our site also. Hopefully, we'll have a nice turnout. As you know, Fresno isn't exactly the hot spot for car meets, etc........besides the illegal drag racers, heh.

Hey guys! It's good to see some of the cetral valley boys posting.

Matt- We'll I kind of chumped out due to the old-lady factor (It was her B-day weekend and ended up at Big Hat days instead). So what's up with you heading out to the auto-x? Out of town trip huh? I think someone's lookin' to rack up some points on the DL! Anyhow, that's awesome about you improving your times, congrats! Yeah, I started modding my Rex a little, nothing to crazy though. Since I last saw you I've lowered it 1.5F / 1.0R with MRT springs, Added a Cusco Rear Adj. swaybar, started rolling with 17X7 OZ Superleggeras w/ 225/45 Pilots, and picked up V700 Victoracers for the stockers. So yeah, I don't think they'll let me run stock anymore. (Crap, I better start practicing!)

Brad, I'm curious what kind of new gizmos you're gonna have poppin' out of your REX the next time we see you. I'm ready to be ahhhed I'm sure.

It's good to see some other Fresno enthusiasts out there. Is the meet that your having at Woodward mostly a Honda Club deal, or do you guys have a variety of cars representing? (If you already this disregard) But yeah, I'll try to swing out that way.

ohhhh man! damnit dude. Now I've got TWO silver WRXs with more mods than I do in the same class. UNFAIR! Plus, I think ticrab is going to be coming out there and he has more mods as well!

I better get my act together and get my suspension sorted out...Suspension Techniques is really giving me the run-around. Sean, you don't really want to run those R compound tires out there, do you? Didn't you know that there is this great tire out called a RE-92 that is the highest performing tire currently made? I have a set of four that I can trade if you are interested...

Superleggeras...drool... What did you do with your old tires? Did you sell them? I was thinking about ordering some Azenis in the stock size but I don't think that will happen unless I can get some money for the old tires. Any ideas for me?

Sean, it'll be mostly an S2000 meet.......if all turns out well, we should have close to 10 S2000's out there from the Valley. We also invited some Accords, Eclipses, and Celicas, but it's too early for some people to tell if they can make it out. We don't expect anything huge or big......it'll be more of an "ice breaker" meet since it's the first time meeting for most of us. I was talking to ticrab through pm about how we didn't want to make this a big ol' ricer meet

Matt, don't worry, it's all about driving skills. And I never went to an auto-x, and I have no suspension or handling mods... but I have the best tires: the 92s!

My catless system is not coming here fast enough... and hopefully I'll get the Unichip in too. After that, I swear, I'm done... I swear...

Hey just because I've got some decent auto-X tires that doesn't mean crap. I've gotta stop driving like a brainless nut to take advantage of them. Anyway, yeah I sold my old tires to America's Tire when I bought the new stuff. In retrospect I should've held onto them in case a fellow i-clubber wanted them. After all, I've heard that the RE-92s are the newest craze !
What's even funnier though, is that I talked to my friend at the store andhe said that a girl with a white Rex came in and bought them. I think it might be the girl from state you know? He also said that the Azeni Sports are really hot right now. They have a tread pattern kinda similar to the Paradas and from what I've heard they are a great value. (they have a very short tread life though) They can get the 205/55/16 for $89 each.

What's up man? Great to have another valley boy to shoot the *&%* with. I'm curious, what type of catless system are you going with and are you eliminating both of the cats after the turbo?

I hope I can make it on Sunday morning. If my trip to SLO ends up being boring, I will leave there at 5:30 AM Sunday morning so I can put some more wear on my super-sticky, top-of-the-line, invincible RE-92s. I think I've talked ticrab into it...you know you want to go to Atwater! I've met three other cool people with silver WRXs...nice to know. Only problem is now we may have four *mostly* identical cars at the auto-crosses...where is the variety?

Actually, it sounds like ticrab will most likely run STX (as should I), but I will finish out the season in ESP with Brad and Sean (even though I only have credit for one event ).

We got the results back from the event on the 7th, I was 20th out of 52 entries...I'm happy with that (for now ). I'm supposed to be meeting with S/T next week so maybe I'll make some improvements after that...

I will get the Godspeed uppipe and downpipe. All catless. Stock muffler. Couldn't find anybody with the same configuration so I have no idea how it will sound. I want it to be stealth.

By the way, where are you guys shopping in town for any preformance parts or tires for your car?
I went to Kyoshi a couple of times. They don't have anything for WRXs in stock or display.

You need to check out the autoX man! Most everyone out there is cool and it's a good way to meet some other suby guys. Don't stress on being nervous, things are pretty low-key and everyone is welcoming and helpful. Plus, you can't let that free SCCA membership go to waste! Besides, I think Matt deserves a little competition anyway!

As far as finding any parts dealers in Fresno, I don't really think there's a whole lot out there. I ordered from Cobb Tuning and Vivid Racing and had good luck with both so far. I do buy my wheels/ tires in town though, I know a few of the guys at a couple of America's Tire stores.

Hope you get a chance to check things out tomorrow. The first car will go out at 9:00AM, but you need to be there earlier so they can tech your car if you are going to run. ( they check for seat belts, 4 wheels, rocket launchers, etc. ) The event will take place at Castle Air Force Base in Atwater, just north of Merced. You basically take 99 north about an hour and then exit in Atwater at Buhach Rd, you'll head northeast through town. You'll follow this through town (maybe about ten minutes) and end up at Santa Fe Ave. You should see the base from there. Go through the main entrance and start looking for orange pylons to lead you in the right direction. You can also check out www.sfrscca.org/solo2/Fresno/ for a map.

I wasn't there...
I went up to Shaver Lake with my friends. The kids were excited to find a little bit of snow and paly around with it. I was upset to not find any snow for my Rex though. I guess I will have to wait until next year. But going uphill and downhill made me realize one thing: handling mods! So I think I will work on that sooner than expected.

For the site, I had ideas of creating a site with links to forums, tutorials, good deals, profiles of Fresno/Central Valley owners and their cars, auto-x and times, etc. And of course making sure to get the ok of whoever would be mentioned on that site, or pictures published.

hey I am new to the i-club and like what im hearing. I live in stockton and have a 2002 wrx pearl blue.

I say that we get a meet togther for next weekend for the asperagras festival and we all enter the car show. It doesnt cost much.

Im sure we could have a great turn out of scooby owners and it would be a good excuse to show off our cars to a large crowd and just have a good old time. if this sounds good to anyone email me and we can talk and/ or get togther to plan a better event.

I really feel that this will be a good opertunity to show off our cars to people who give us those looks of what the heak kinda car is that. And who knows we could have a really awasome turn out.
