iPod users (windows xp) - a few questions for you...

+is the ipod water proof?

+can you use the ipod as a removeable storage device, ie; click and drag items on to it.
+battery life for both the regular ipod & ipod mini during constant use...
+any documented quirks or oddities in the operating system and or user interface?
+when is the next gen ipod expected to be released and is it worth the wait...
+is there any sort of copyright protection or limitation on # of times a song can be copied?
+how does it compare to the other mp3 players on the market, especially the new one by sony... (with that annoying macy gray commercial)

2. yes
3. regular ipod, I've been getting somewhere around 10 hours
4. sometimes songs don't show when it's synched to my pc
5. dunno, I doubt it.
6. don't ask, don't tell
7. interface is much better than most, good amount of accessories and support (either by apple or other companies)

The "next gen" is already out. Generation 4, I think it is, is the new $300 20GB iPod w/ the supposedly better battery life.

I recently bought one and love it. My only beef is with iTunes. It was a pain converting .wma --> AAC format. Moreover, iTunes is so stupid and has so many duplicate artists, making organization hard. I guess that's what I get for downloading songs rather than ripping the album
