My roommate has a funny body. Her body acts up every few months, usually if she forgets to take a pill one day or takes it at a different time of the day. She can have horrid cramps, or mood swings, or tenderness and then not have her period. My body reacts differently than hers does.

The important thing to remember is that every woman's body acts differntly. If it's too early to tell on the pregnancy thing, then just calm down and wait it out. It could be any number of things. If you're really worried, tell her to go see a docter... don't rely on the internet advice of strangers

Those symptoms are also premenstrual, not just while she's on her period. Why else would they be so cranky and emotional (read: PMS) if they aren't having to deal with their period yet?? The headaches and cramps sore b00bi3s!

(Ok Ladies, I know that was crass, but I couldn't resist!)

But seriously the cramps and the tenderness and teh 'craziness' can come before the actual monthly discharge.

You took two tests, right? How late was she when you took the second one?
Those tests are really accurate almost instantly after being late, or within a couple days. Did she take it in the morning?
She says shes getting the same feeling as shes getting her period, right now shes recovering from a cold so and she gets no headaches.
she also tells me the same thing your telling me shes getting the same reactions from her body like shes getting it but still not there.

she took one at 8:00pm last sat night. also one this morning at 9:00am both came out negative.

For an exact she said she should had her period on the 14th of this month so shes 8 days late.

Ok, well, I just chatted with the girl who is 9mon. preggars at my office. Bad news. She took 7 tests before it turned up positive. Her breasts were super tender and she had cramping, too. I don't know what to tell you, but get her to the university medical clinic for a blood test. She might not have accumulated the amount of hormones necessary to trip a test, but it could only be a matter of time.

Go. Now. If anything, for PIECE OF MIND.

Chances are, she's not, but end the worry.

If she recently moved in with her roommate its possible its messing up her cycle. I wouldn't worry yet. Possibly her being sick is impacting things also. If you hit 2 weeks I'd see a doctor, but as of right now I'd wager on you being ok.

Quit wasting money on pregnancy tests. Like I said, it's too early to tell right now. A pregnancy test is not going to be able to tell you anything yet.

If she's sick that could also effect it. Another thing, last year was really the first time I started getting a lot of typical signs of PMS including breast tenderness and nausea about a week before my period. Before that it was just cramps and extreme irritability (and I do mean extreme) a day or so before. Happens to thousands upon thousands of women. Also, I don't think she'd be getting sore boobies if she were a week pregnant.

No kidding. Sometimes it's not so bad, but other times I get so moody it just seems like everything is end of the world and I cry at the drop of a hat. It's awful.

Seriously, she's probably fine, but if you want to eliminate the worry, just go to the university clinic (usually free of charge) and get an actual blood test.

A song by Stephen Lynch provides the obvious solution if she is preggers:

I kissed you on the cheek
Good night my love I say
You turned to me and smile
A babys on the way.

And then you drift asleep
To dream of life anew
And I lie wondering
Just what I should do

I could kick you in the stomach
And catch you unawares
I could swear to God you accidently
Fell that flight of stairs

When I tell you that I love you
I will look you in the eye
As I slowly slide the hanger up your thigh.

The 14th when she shoulda gotten her period she said she was getting a sore boobie... she doesnt feel nausea either i know this is personal ish, but she had a yeast infection took a pill for that and shes fine now.

she said she hasnt felt an extreme pain yet just her normal cramps and its very random doesn't happen everyday, she feels like shes getting her period but when she checks its not there.

SB beat me to it, but yeah go the university clinic. It's typically included in the tuition. Also you can get talk to one of the doctors there and get information on the right birth control for her.

Hope you learned your lesson and will not have to go through this again. Good luck with your girl man.
