I'm curious what map(s) people have tried for thier 2010 WRX ? Other than HB Speed and Cobb is anyone else offering OTS maps? What about Perrin?

im running perrins stage 2 with their catback and single piece downpipe. Runs great. Supposedly makes more power than Cobb's map.

Nice. Big improvement on the butt dyno? You aren't running an intake are you?

Ya there's a lot of talk about intakes being called infakes cuz they don't make extra power on our cars. I gather the important thing is to use a map that is specific to the intake that you run, or ideally, get a custom tune.

I have some info from Perrin regarding thier tunes:

quote taken from an e-mail from Chris Cone at Perrin- "...we don't have any PERRIN custom maps for the 2010 cars yet. We are working on getting maps made, but it will take some time for us to make them. Expect them to be ready within the next 1-2 months. They will be made by on a 2010 car on a dyno, and will be safe!

So for now you can run our intake on the stock tune, but you can't run our intake with a tune until you get a custom tune made, or our PERRIN maps are ready"

Big Ups to Chris for e-mailing me back in response to my questions!

More news from Chris at PERRIN:

(for 2010 WRX owners) "if you purchase an AP from us, you can use the COBB map and the stock intake for now. Then when we have our 2010 maps ready, I can e mail that map to you, and you can purchase our intake too, thanks!"

So if you buy an accesport now, they will let you take advantage of the free map offer and they'll send it when it's ready.

cool so how did you get the perrin map doesn't sound like it's out yet. Did the exhaust make a big difference in power?

The Accessport comes with the Cobb maps on it. That's what he's most likely using.

I'm using the Cobb 93 octane stage 1 map. I'll have to be honest and say that the car doesn't "feel" more powerful than stock, but it is definitely a lot smoother in 2 ways:

1 - No more head snapping jerk when getting to about 3500 RPM while flooring it in first gear. I used to get really disoriented by this and wondered to myself where I was by 6000 RPM.
2 - The drive-by-wire throttle is much better than stock. With stock, I could not accurately control the throttle in the first 25% of the pedal travel.

The car is completely stock otherwise.
