I'd imagine it would cost a whole lot for 17-foot or 18-foot wheels. You might have to roll your fenders a little bit too.

17" or 18" would be a different story... Sport Compact Car had a really good article a few months ago, I think it's still searchable from their webpage.

I think the main problem would the tires not being able to hold air. I would think you would need to get some 17" or 18" rims too.

17's are as big as you should go on an RS. 18's are just too big and heavy.

17' and 18' are way too big. I had a hell of a time with mine and they're only 6'

well my wheels are the SE37A's which are not available in 17" but the SE37K's are... I am not sure about their wieght, most likley less... but I am happy with my new wheels that are 2" taller .5" wider and only .5lbs heavier that stock (based on the info that I was given that the stockers are: 16 x 7 16lbs).

Those rims are sweet. I really like them. I am not to crazy about 18" but would love a set of 17". Do you have a picture of them on your car?

unfortunately not yet... I haven't decided on tires... and am currently sorting out turbo gremlins... so the funds are headed that way... but soon I promise... soon...

here is a pic of the SE37K's... notice the spokes don't taper in at the top...

they are available in 17" x 7.5" and 18" x 7.5" both with +48mm offsets...
