Default Anyone else notice the '08 Impreza dash is angled away from the driver?

Coming from a Legacy, where the center dash is angled towards the driver, I was surprised to see that the dash in the new Impreza is angled towards the passenger. Can't really notice it in pics, but you do notice it when sitting in it.
Anyone else notice this?

Can't really see it in the pic, but the center dash is angled away from the driver:

It's not angled towards the passenger, it's straight ahead. Like all other Imprezas.

We had a '08 Outback last week as a rental--loved the dash and interior, BTW. I like the angle, and the general design. V nice.

I'm not complaining so much, just thought it was odd coming from the Legacy.

It looks passenger-biased compared to the Legacy, but it's just straight out. I drove an '08 WRX last weekend and the interior was nicer than previous models... the only part I didn't care for were the door cards.

Good ol' Subaru, redefining the term "performance car" yet again.

It performs just fine. Nobody said it was a roadster or a go-kart. It can have amenities. Nav and stuff is optional anyways, if you don't want it, don't get it.

If it was angled towards the passenger, maybe they might have carried over the dash from the japanese model. It's probably angled towards the driver in the Japanese model.

I think I see how he though it's angled towards the Passenger.
If you look at the cubby on the top, it gives the illusion that the dash
is angled that way.

The pic does look misleading, but it isn't angled away from the driver. It would have been cool if they did angle it slightly towards the driver like the Leg, to give the car more of a cockpit feel.

Mine is angled straight back, not in either direction really.

IMO, tan cloth interior often looks cheap. Darker cloth usually looks much nicer. Tan leather on the other hand can look really nice.

That steering wheel will be nice and filthy after a few drives. I don't understand the motives behind light colored interiors.

My car has black interior, and I honestly can't think of anything I would change about it.

One thing I do not like about most tan interior cars is that they are really, partially tan interiors with some pieces still in grey/charcoal/black. This one is a good example. The top of the dash is still the dark charcoal color, while much of the rest is tan. Then, with such a light tan color, it gives a big contrast which isn't necessarily pleasant. If it was all tans, with maybe some darker browns to keep some contrast, it would look better. At least IMO.

Are you kidding me? It has wood trim & leather seats. It's probably just the color - the beige makes people think luxury I guess.

I agree, so I replaced the beige pic with the charcoal interior pic in the original post.

I sat in a 2008 WRX yesterday. I like the interior, especially in video/audio-in inputs inside the center console.

I have yet to test drive either one. I need to find a dealership where I could test drive the 2008 4EAT WRX and the 5EAT LGT back-to-back.
