![]() I was wondering if any of you 2011 guys have taken apart the stock head unit withOUT navigation.
Are their any RCA ports on the back? The stock sound system is alright but alittle bit more wouldn't hurt. =]

![]() Pop the bezel off, unscrew the headunit and look and let us know.
I seriously doubt that it does. If you are planning to upgrade your system, a headunit should be on the top of that list anyway. The stock speakers are a LOT better than they used to be. |

![]() No, it won't have aftermarket RCA outputs. VERY VERY VERY VERY few OEM head units have outputs.
What are you attempting (or wanting) to do? |

![]() I took off the radio bezel and removed the four screws and the 2011's do not have any RCA outputs on the back I'll post pics later of the back of the unit.
I'm trying to put a system in my car. Just one 12" subwoofer. |

![]() Then you'll need just one LOC (line-out converter). I always like the SNI-35 from PAC. It has adjustable gains (to lower the sensitivity for more flexibility with amp adjustments).
You'll want a wiring harness for an aftermarket stereo (70-8901 from Metra for most Subarus) and a reverse harness (71-8901 if the previous one works). They will both wire up color-for-color, and you can tie the LOC into the rear speaker wires (green/purple) and the turn-on wire into the Accessory wire (red). It will all be plug-n-play at that point and you'll never have to cut a factory wire ![]() |

![]() sk8dc10 has the non-nav HU, so his Impreza has the newer 20-pin radio harness. So Audiosavvy's wiring tips apply, but you need to use different harnesses (not the 7x-8901).
See my pin-out here. I now have combined 20-pin forward/reverse harnesses with most or all of the pins connected straight through. Great for adding an amp and/or sub. See my homepage (click on my username). |
