Default wire harness that plugs in radio for gauges.

where can i get this harness that i read about in posts?? they refer to it as a "hitachi clutch coil socket" it is a harness that plugs into the factory radio harness and you are able to run the power to gauges from it..
thanks

Default Yup, sounds like it.....Another option

I believe there to be power and ground coming from it. If you pull out your stock radio and follow down the radio harness you'll see where the plug is. If memory serves me correct you can use wire spades instead of a plug. They plug right into the female wiring harness. Just get some krimp on spades.

One thing to note is that the gauge illuminates when the lights are on, not otherwise. But I guess that is whatcha'd really want.

I concur with East Coast Scooby...
I had spadies laying around with a plastic sleeve over them. Yanked them outta the sleeve and pounded a wire into the little cylinder hole (14 gauge wire I believe). You could PM me and I'll snail mail ya two of them for free!

does it matter which wires from the gauges to the plug, or will they work either way?
on the radio harness there is a ORANGE wire which is????
and there is a PURPLE wire which is??? is one a power and one a ground??

StarDogChampion,
hmm good one! I can't remember what the colors are. What I did was hooked up a test light and turned my lights on and played with the dimmer thingy. That made sure that when I connected the gauge lights, it would work that way ie. dim when everything else dimmed and brightened when everything did. IIRC if you reverse the wires you get a reverse dimming affect. I guess it depends on how you want to hook it up. Seriously, though, just take a test light (or a gauge) and hook it up and test it. After I figured out the polarity I wanted, I hooked all three of them in parallel. Good luck! (ie don't blow any fuses!)
p.s. wrap the connector at the radio with electrical tape just in case the spades back out!
