Thanks to everyone for the encouraging words. Subaru of America hasn't replied to 4 phone calls or half a dozen emails over the past few weeks. I am so disappointed with the company at this point. All they had to do was keep trying to fix the car, but even that was too difficult for them. Two of the three dealers I went to for repairs spent more time blaming others than trying to repair the car. Door seal leaks blamed on window tint, but TSB was available for the leaks. Battery drain blamed on factory trailer wiring, but TSB for charging system fixed that issue. The list goes on. I wish everyone the best of luck with their cars, as a whole they do seem to be pretty reliable, just not in my case. I will update with final outcome if I ever hear back from SOA.

Default Final update

Well, Subaru clearly doesn't care about their customers at all, they won't even respond, at all. My requests for assistance from Tom Doll the current CEO of SOA have fallen on deaf ears as well. At one point I was told that he has received my messages by a customer service representative, but he apparently takes a hands off approach to requests, not even passing them on to a corporate resolution center which nearly all companies have.

I just traded off the car this past weekend and the dealer I bought from sold it to a Subaru dealer, so they can deal with its continued problems.

If anyone is looking for a better (my opinion) alternative to the Outback, take a look at the new Buick Regal TourX. It is made in Germany and is the Opel/Vauxhaul Insignia over in that part of the world. It drives amazing, good power, good fuel economy, more space, and better comfort than the Outback. Plus it is priced very similarly, even better if you catch GM's big rebates, which I used during my purchase.

I sure hope nobody else has to experience the mess that I just went through.

Enjoy your rides.

I have a 2015 that had coolant disappearing. Dealer can't give a good answer except evaporation. I've never had a car lose coolant like mine. I think subaru is hiding something.

On the highway my drivers door sounds like a wind tunnel

My XmRadio can't view categories and Sirius says subaru needs to update their system. From what I've found, it is a subaru problem.

At times my rear lift gate sticks and won't open.

CVY shifting issues - Errrr don't even get me started!

I bought a 2018 Outback 2.5i a few months ago and after 2000 miles have a huge list of problems to report. I am reporting them here in the hopes that others can gain some information through my experiences. Here is the list and what the dealer is proposing. I will update as info becomes available and as fixes are completed.

- Engine oil leak - engine being removed and driver side cam cover being resealed.
- Coolant disappears - they have no clue where it is going but claimed that the low and high marks on the reservoir are not for coolant level. Huh?
- Front doors leak air like crazy - new door seals being installed after convincing them that window tint could in no way cause the problem.
-Infotainment system ignores response from driver - they tried to reflash but it won't accept so they are installing new system.
- Rear hatch won't latch when cold - was warm when car dropped off so they couldn't duplicate and they will try again on a cold morning.
- Auto down on drivers window lost program twice - they can't duplicate.
- Rubber trim on rear door window fell off - no response on what they are doing to fix this.
- CVT shifting erratic skips ratios or varies between steps and seamless when accelerating - they are reprogramming CVT control.
- Valve train clunk/tick in area where oil leak occurs - no response on what they are doing to fix.
- Remote control will be ignored by wireless module if drivers door stays open for more than a few minutes - they were impatient and didn't wait long enough to see this but I hope infotainment replacement solves this since wireless module is attached to radio.
- During test ride with mechanic with his computer hooked up the car threw communications error from engine control module and airbag system failure. These are not even part of my original complaint, but clearly something was wrong.

Is there a TSB for coolant loss. I have that issue on a certified used 2015 I bought in July 2018. Dealer pressure checked and said it lost 2 pounds in 10 minutes tech said that is normal. Tech said loss is due to evaporation and consumption.

Because I have coolant disappearing I've done a lot of searching and there are a fairly large amount of people who notice the same thing. There is also the same fairly large number of people who get the same response from the dealer - all is normal.

So yes, I would be interested to know if there is a TSB for coolant loss.

I do not know about a TBS on the coolant but many (including myself) have seen small amounts of loss especially when car is new. Then again it depends on the amount you are loosing. Temperature of engine will slightly change the level. I ve noticed on some of my cars that if the ground is not perfectly level the tank will show differently.

My xm radio was changed on my 18 in the first 1k miles, that corrects that issue. It s in the none repairable unit.

Vent window seal are common in the 15 s.

CVT now should be covered to 100K.

As the moderators have erased at least one of my relevant posts, I am left thinking that they too are not interested in the truth of car issues. Lets see how long this post stays online! Just delete my account if you have issues with my honesty.
