You are not SCGT. This thread is invalid.

I only wanted a 32kg kettlebell for xmas, and I got it. So my goal is to get to the point I can easily manhandle it. It's very surprising how big a jump 28>32kg is. It's a big jump.

Mostly just want to stay injury free and lift heavy things. If I could lift heavier things than before that would be swell.

Yup. I just joined the 1000 pound club, though admittedly had to add in OHP. I'd like to see my squat get to 300, deadlift back to 315 and bench 275. Currently, they're 285, 300, and 255 respectively. If I can OHP my bodyweight, I'd be happy, that's currently at 165. so I've got 10 pounds on either end to meet in the middle.

But stay injury free. Thanks to the folks on this forum, I've been able to do just that with some tweaks to the form.

Happy New Year everyone!

Currently rehabbing after a concussion/pinched nerve back in October.

At around mid 300s squat (doing paused, beltless, high bar for now) and low 400s dl but 185 bench is a struggle...

Setting goals for slow rebuild to 405, anything over 225, and 495. Then maybe get back to where I was at this time last year. Really hating bench days right now lol.

I got one about a month ago (along with an airdyne) for my home gym. Monster jump from the 24kg we always use at Crossfit.

For 2018 I am not looking to chase numbers or times. I spent pretty much all of 2017 with a demolished shoulder (stem cell injections worked amazingly well).

1. Decided to really take up jiujitsu and love it so far,

2. Keep healthy,

3. Maintain sub 170lb BW (current 173),

4. 405 squat, 315 bench, 500 DL, sub 7:00 mile, 275
CJ, 225 snatch (just because they are easy to remember and fairly achievable numbers)

Nice. I want a BW sohp (190 these days), been wanting it for a while . Most I've done was 170 or 175 when I was around 185. I just got 135x7 after 4 sets of 135x5, was repping it out but my left quad cramped . SOHP is one of my favorite moves these days.

I want to continue improving my climbing on bikes and my overall fitness. I would like to get under 180. I got to 185, but now I am back to a bit over 190.

In 2017 I went from being in the mid group on my rides to being in the middle of the "fast" guys, and from 215 to 185.

...just reset my 5/3/1 spreadsheet with the new maxes since I was effectively capping out and damn, these new numbers are low to start out. My old one had theoretical working maxes ~70 lbs heavier. Yeah, uh not so much...

70# kb wrecked my life. I competed in our state CF Open and one of the workouts had 50 32kg kb snatches in it. That's almost half my body weight.

Having said that CF has taken its toll on my knees, time to slow down and pick up heavy stuff again this year. Working more on my C&J and snatch and less metcons.

Not doing any bodybuilding shows this year just looking to get back to strength.

Bench I would like to hit 275, at 235 currently for 3 reps
Squat I would like to hit 405, at 325 currently for 3 reps
Deadlift I would like to hit 450, at 405 for 1 rep

Still want to work on the physique and gain more size so when I decide to compete again I will be bigger than last time.

My Facebook was kind enough to remind me that one year ago I was squatting 365, and had set a goal for 400.

I dont think I could put up 225 at this point.

Goals for 2018 are to add a ton of muscle mass if I am going to be as soft in the mid section as I am now

Well, I can't figure out how to snatch, so whatever on that. I also weigh 185 or so. I'm doing a few hundred swings with it, or 20 TGU or so. It's heavy. I haven't tried one handed swings yet, but will be soon, just wanted to acclimate a bit.

I weigh 171. Don't try to snatch it until you're comfortable with the movement, and I'd suggest using a lighter kb first. That movement can mess up a shoulder in a heartbeat.

That's why I've never learned, I only have one kb on hand, and it's generally heavy.

First day of 5x5: (Mon, 1/8/2018)

Squat:
45x5x2
75x3
115x5x5

Bench:

45x5x2
65x3
95x5x5

BB Row:
75x5x5

25m walking @ 3.6mph

Weight: 227 (fat)

Squats were hard. I need to get my form back. BP and BB Row was too easy. I might add 10 instead of 5 next week, and keep squat at 115 until form is correct. As it was, I just shortened rest periods for BP and Rows to make up for the light weight.

Worst thing I've ever done with kb's is an 800m run/walk/crawl with 2 1.5's in front rack position. I'm pretty sure its a method they use to break wild horses.

How do you guys handle DOMS after leg days? I squatted so light monday but still feeling extremely sore. I am sure this is a regular enough occurrence on 5x5 but im legit concerned about my ability to squat tonight. I am on a cut, but I still ate dinner after my workout, and also did cardio after. I am just going to push through it.

Foam rolling helps yeah? Whens the best time to roll?

Drink lots of water, take breaks at work during the day to go up and down the stairs a couple times, work through it.

Try this. Take your thumb:

Extend it like so:

And insert into mouth as follows:

It may still hurt, but you won't be able to talk about it, and that will help you push through it tonight.
