Xluben, did you have the spt on during the time you had the built motor or was that before. Reason I ask is a shop told me that with a 20G setup with built motor the spt would be too restrictive and would limit the car 50whp from its full potential . Sounds fishy to me.

At 350WHP the SPT made no difference at all. Unfortunately I never ran it with the 20G XTR, but I wouldn't think it would make more than a few HP difference.

Yeah I'm kind of feeling out this shop that does tuning and I think they are inexperienced (putting it nicely). It seemed odd to me, that's not the only thing they've said that doesn't make sense. I won't be using them. Thanks

It doesn't make a difference on a 1.5 Dom either.

Yeah I think these guys are full of crap. What is sad is they did a full build on my friends motor in his sti ($12k) and he is only putting down 330whp with a garret 35r. They are telling him it's because of his stock headers and spt cbe. Sorry I don't want to fill up your thread with this stuff I just wanted to ask because you and Rob seem to know your stuff. Thanks for the info guys.

This is a thread derailment I know...but I wouldn't want to make any assumptions without seeing the data. Yes, I rotated 35R setup should be making well into the 4's and possibly into the 5's...but without seeing the data...it is hard to say what is actually going on.

I would think that low of a power number on a 35R would be a fuel system limitation or a leak or other major issue holding it back. The stock headers and/or stock exhaust should not be the limit. My car made 460+ WHP (on a Dynojet) with the stock headers and stock exhaust.

Yeah it sounded weird to me. Not sure what injectors he is running. I would think that a tuner would be able to see that it's at the fuel limits fairly easily so maybe something is leaking. That is very helpful info, thanks again.

Yeah, I'm really doing a new built motor, built heads, rotated turbo, rotated manifold, and updated fuel system.

Oh wait. That's you... Maybe I could just swipe your car!

I feel like if you are really building something new, like everyone thinks, the suspense is more than that of The Walking Dead.

Which gives me a heart attack every time I watch it. So if you come out with some uber build, I will have a heart attack.

Yes it's a Defi/ProSport gauge cup that is mounted via self stick industrial velcro. The wiring is just running up behind the cubby. No drilling or permanent mods at all.

I tried looking, but prob missed it. For your wideband, where did you put the sensor/bung to get your readings?

Your car was really nice btw.
