It is certainly more effective and functional than the 5 dozen or so stock STI and WRX wings running around Alaska!

I have autocrossed for several years now***8230;.but to answer your question, no there is no noticeable improvement in handling at the up to 60 mph some of us faster cars hit at our auto crosses. However, my car is not a track day garage queen. It is a daily driver. I do hit speeds where the aerodynamics of the wing would assist with down force. I am also building my car up for future competition up at Tanacross on the big course. There is a method to my madness.

A Mercedes, particularly the one in question, is a fine luxury automobile. A Subaru Impreza, while they have come a long way, is still a economy type model. To compare the two is going out on a limb pretty far. To paint the wheels on the white Impreza was "different" and not so atrocious. To paint a black Mercedes wheels turquoise, or whatever hue that is, and not think people are going to is well, special***8230;.as in special 'K'!

The thread is about rice***8230;.it is supposed to be in good fun. If you can't take some ribbing***8230;.best to stay out.
First of, i am a fan of the S204/S205 wing like you have on your car. I was just giving you crap about it because i see it as a more visual upgrade than a performance upgrade and you come of as the type "Function Only, No Form" type of person.

Im not trying to start crap with anyone, all i am saying, car guy to car guy. Look at something from a different point of view for once.

In all honesty, i think Auto X is a joke. Scooting through cones in a parking lot, maybe shifting into 2nd gear doesnt LOOK like fun at all. Stop right there, dont have a heart attack. Let me finish. I am sure that every single person out there would rather compete in a full circuit track to race around corners but being in Alaska, Road Runner go karts is the closest thing to a circuit track here. Now what im going to do here is stop and look at Auto X from a different view.

Theres more to it than what it looks like. Ive gone out to an event and watched. Honestly not impressed or even much interested after what i saw. But Auto X has swept the nation as a new form of motorsport (not saying this was recently) so obviously theres something with Auto X that makes people keep coming back. I understand theres skill involved with running around these cones and getting the fastest time on the "track". Which is why, although i think its a joke and a waste of time, i still would like to try it first hand and experience it. I plan to come out to an Auto X event. I might like it, i might not. But hey, im not running around all negative tooting Auto X is stupid, auto x is a joke, auto x is that.

Now when you see a "different" color on a set of wheels regardless of what its on, im not saying try it your self. Or if you see Stance, im not saying try it out too. Just simply try to view it from a different perspective.

And with that logic i probably sound like a weirdo who could justify every car in this thread. But some of these cars in here are just straight out "WTF WERE THEY THINKING?!?!" Like (to some people) that Benz.

That whole defense of "looking different" is a joke. Obviously any vehicle listed within this thread had the owner going for something "different." It definitely doesn't justify just how ugly it is. The feedback was there and in overwhelming numbers, perhaps one should take that feedback and look to improve. This isn't elementary school where you get nothing but compliments, blue ribbons for last place or a free carton of milk. If you can't take the feedback then don't post.

Different..... pshh... maybe people should start being different by actually making changes to the fastest subarus list or autox listings instead of being a DC Shoes Advertisement.
Not everyone builds or modifys their cars to be fast/go fast/ or compete in motorsports with. And so you know, Cscj15 is a very close friend of mine. The white is more of a temporary color until he is able to get them painted the color he really wants. Ill give you a hint: Its not too far off from the color of his winter wheels

No feelings hurt people.

Insane, I invite you personally to take a ride in my car at the next autocross. Until you have been in the car with someone who knows what they are doing***8230;you are just talking out of your ass.

I've yet to complete a run with a passenger who didn't come in with white knuckles, trying to catch their breath muttering the words "OMG, I HAD NO IDEA!"

You folks on the side lines can wag your tongues and fingers, talking smack, saying it looks so slow***8230;until you are there in the passenger seat trying to keep your head from banging off the window, keep from screaming or peeing your pants.

I implore you to show up and bring a helmet. I can say with complete confidence, it will be the ride of your life. This goes for any other lurkers out there also.

Lol. I knew i'd hit the spot with my view on Auto X.

Nomad, i respect you for what you have acomplished with your driving and with you car. Its just the way you come off here sometimes reminds me of a QWKWEVO.

You have challenged the nay sayers of Auto X in the past and ive accepted that challange personally. I plan to show up to an event with an open mind and an expectation of excitement.

I was here long before QwikEVO. Like him, I can back up my BS.In other words, its not talking **** if you can back it up.

Glad to hear you'll be there. Do I need to bring a plastic cover for my seat? A barf bag? Depends?

Its not that you hit a spot but its that you folks are speaking from a spectator's point of view. To me, life is about having experiences. Why not try everything at least once? What's to loose?

Apparently need to just sit the 5 of you down in front of a television with HGTV running or something. This is what happens when color blind men attempt to take on contrasting colors.

Oh well Sall good if you always want to be slow worrying about interior LED dome lights and deciding between tiffany blue or aqua. Gotta be different somehow if not by numbers. ;-)

All in good fun Insane_one, I'll shun kyle later down the road once he loses completely loses his marbles.

Correct. I will once again be flossing a significant color. Be prepared. Also with my blue wheels I was getting more positive comments. Goal was to have people start liking it. I was expecting dislikes but after people saw it in person they tend to change their minds.

Have just as much a right to post as you do, whether it's positive or negative, public forums rules say nothing against it. You can deal with it. Not everyone is here to poop rainbows & butterflies for you Mr.JDMDATZTYTE, sorry.
