Does anyone knows what this is and what it does?

I am searching the internet and haven't found anything yet.

Canister purge maybe? Charcoal canister that collects gasoline vapors from the fuel tank when you are not driving. Then when the engine is running, it opens a valve (canister purge valve) to release the vapors stored in the charcoal back into the engine to be burned. That would be my guess. -Chuck
