Pics/stories from the blizzard?
I would have been out driving for a few hours last night if my car wasn't broke down right now. A little depressing, my car has been down all winter.
Did anyone go out and get some sideways action? Deep snow and donuts? Pics are a plus!

Drove to a the mountain bike trail and back yesterday for some fat biking. Other than that I've kept the car mostly straight with the exception of one corner yesterday.
I just couldn't pass it up. I had nobody in front of me (or behind me) when a light turned green. I was going to turn right so I double-clutched 2nd (perfectly, rarely happens) from 4th (was doing about 35mph) and threw my Forester into the corner. Perfect 4 wheel drift. I'm sure everyone sitting at the light thought I was either a massive douche or awesome (more likely the former). Then on the way home my wife yelled at me. Apparently you aren't supposed to drift every corner on the way home from the grocery store Here's a shot from before the snow really turned on: Untitled by ch0ng, on Flickr Here's what my Saturn looked like when I finished shoveling this morning: Untitled by ch0ng, on Flickr |

I ended up driving about 5 hours yesterday through the blizzard here in WI. It was crazy windy. I was hitting snow drifts that went up over the hood of my wrx wagon.
I can give a resounding recommendation of General altimax arctic tires |

New owner here and new to the forums!
Just purchased my first subaru on Saturday in Vermont, got caught in the storms somewhere in Ohio. First time with an awd vehicle, great at accelerating from a stop but the tires it had where seriously lacking in traction. Had to stop in PA to get blizzaks. Night and day difference. By the time I was around Toledo I was going no more than maybe 30 down the interstate as the plows had disappeared. Finally made it to Wi last night. |
