Default Help Possibly buying 02 bugeye Questions about Clutch and maintenance

Hello, I am looking at an 02 wrx with 100k on the odometer. I have never owned a subie and do not know much about the cars. The car has had the timing belt done, but is still on the original clutch. Does this seem normal? a lady owns the car and says it is fine. What other types of maintenance should a car of this age and miles have done? Anything in particular I should look for? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

If she didn't dog the car out than the clutch should be fine. Most standard transmissions will last longer than an auto if they've been taken car of.

Having a part break is my perfect excuse to upgrade to something better.

I have an 02 with over 100k on it. You are going to be replacing that clutch probably within the next 30k if she took really good care of it. You should have ALL of the fluids changed, including brakes. Are there any mods done to the car? That will play a big part. Drain the tranny fluid and check the magnetic plug. Some metallic sludge is normal. Pieces of metal are not. Feel free to pm me with more questions.
