Am I correct in assuming a typical stage 2 WRX/STI with ~300whp will be somewhere in the 7-8 second range? I have noticed that while the stage 2 WRX is far faster than most cars under 70 mph, it is equal or slower above 70 mph than most other cars with 270hp+ like V6 Accords, BMW, Audis, or similar luxury cars with over 300 horsepower etc. Not sure if this is due to AWD, gearing, the small stock turbo, or all of the above.

I made this assumption until I ran into my friend and his E46 M3 on a lonely highway. From about 55/60 to 100 we were completely even. No idea how it happened as I'm currently only running the Cobb OTS stage 1 tune.

Yeah, that's probably about right. FFS'ing and higher redline could get it close to 7 or maybe under. The gearing on the WRX really isn't that great for highway rolls.

I need to catch up on reviewing these videos...

But for tonight, I just have a little comparison. Nothing scientific, but it might help people gauge what time they should expect if they have Virtual Dyno numbers. I did some runs at 20psi (flat), 24psi peak (tapering to 22psi), and 27psi peak (tapering to 24psi) and then plotted the results in Virtual Dyno:

I took speedo videos for these runs and the 50-100mph times were as follows:

20psi (400WHP Dynojet): 5.4 seconds
24psi (440WHP Dynojet): 4.9 seconds
27psi (480WHP Dynojet): 4.4 seconds

All of the runs were done twice (once in each direction) and the results were identical (peak numbers within 2WHP in Virtual Dyno and 50-100mph times within 0.05 seconds in the videos), so I think the results are pretty solid.

Of course this is just my car, with my powerband, and the runs were done all in 3rd gear. There will be different results once you add in one (or two) shifts, as well as many other factors. So take it with a grain of salt, but I'm just glad to see the VD numbers do seem to go up inline with the 50-100mph times going down.

^This one is also hard to get a good time for because you brake boosted slightly over 50mph. Your car is obviously much faster than that 50-100mph time indicates. Maybe roll into it at 30 or 40mph and it will be somewhat spooled as it goes through 50mph?

^Sorry, I don't see 7 flat. Stepping frame by frame gives me 7.39 seconds. Still a great time. Very, very good shifts! My car on E85 did a similar time! You have more mods and better driving, which is quite an accomplishment to do on pump gas! My was also trapping around 110-112mph and made 340WHP on the dyno, so the 50-100mph metric does seem to correlate fairly well to trap and dyno numbers. I think you trapped higher recently, do you have any new 50-100mph video?

Thanks sir..pump gas and 24psi..wait until spring if I still have the car and I put some e85 and 30-32psi to it Guess all the weight reduction pays off! I haven't put it on a scale in over a year but it should be in the 2800lb range with my summer wheels on it.

No i was running meth on both on of them. The fp green was tuned in 40 degree weather on a larger tmic @25psi and made 388/412. I got the dom 3 installed in the summer on like the hottest day possible. It was like 102 with about 50% humidity. Had to limit the boost to 22psi cause the tmic was just baking and was knocking at 23psi. I have no heat shields or thermal wrap so it makes sense. I only made 375/360 on it. My fmic is waiting for install and retune though so ill update with a new vid and hopefully new numbers over 400whp.
