Had a great time taking my STI for a nice 2 hour drive this morning. Then spent another 2hours detailing the car when I got home. Such a joy owning this car, fun to drive, fun to work on, easy on the pockets. 4th year this year.

I got my first lip scrape today (installed a week ago....nuuuuu) because of a major dip inside a parking lot. Seriously, do you need a dip THAT deep in a parking lot for rain water to flow through? Gah....scrapes were all on the bottom of the lip so they are not visible, but I know they are there.

Took a drive up the mountain roads after that little mishap and got more comfortable with the STI handling. It got dark by the time we drove down, and man the auto adjusting headlights are amazing!!

In one of his other threads he's complaining about a knocking sound that wasn't there before. He may have touched revs a bit higher than 7000, don't think he knows exactly . . .

Changed the engine, transmission, and diff oil today. Off to the mechanic tomorrow to cut and weld the floor bars and integrate them with the cage.

I swapped control arm poly bushings the other day and didn't appropriately grease driver side. Got tired of all the squeaking today and took it all apart filed down the control arm and regreased using the teflon tape methode. Car is officially 95% squeak free. Dem rear karboy bushings be annoying. I also bought a 1/2 impact today, I can't believe I went all this time without this. Compared to last time, removing the control arm was a breeze.

I finally got all of the inside silver trim painted satin black. The shifter trim is not perfect but I love how it looks now!

Now all the easy cheap stuff is done I have to save my pennies for the big stuff.

On my STI I did a brake flush/bleed at 12K miles, but 4th year. No change I could detect before/after the service besides the fluid was slightly more yellow vs fresh.

One of the bleeders on my driver front was frikken seized to hell.. but got it to open after using a small breaker bar and socket.
