Default Been a NASIOC member for over a decade???

I don't know about the rest of the guys around here that have been long term members but someday's it sure makes me feel old!!! LOL

I've been a ghost on this forum for the past few years but recently decided I'm going to try to take another stab at being active... why not right??? Some days I look at the forums and realize how much things have changed in the past 10 years in the subaru world but at the same time how things always stay the same. Anyone with me on that??

I remember the days when a WRX was a high end car and difficult to afford and even more difficult to afford to mod. Not everyone had them and the passion of those days seems to be somewhat unmatched today. Don't get me wrong, a lot of people out there own these cars now and enjoy driving and building them but the general "feeling" seems to be different. Maybe I'm being nostalgic and longing for the good 'ol days to come back or maybe I'm just being critical, I'm not sure. In some ways I think I feel a bit personally responsible for not sticking around and helping mould the next generation of subaru owners and helping guide them and sharing what I know. In the last 9 months of working at Dale's my passion to share with my fellow subaru owners has returned in a big way and being around these cars again day in and out is a fantastic feeling for me. I really realized this on Saturday when a member from PG came down to get a bunch of stuff installed at the shop and it made me think how far he came just to get this done! And by US! Him and I had a great discussion and I'm confident he learned a lot and I felt great! I then remembered that this is what it was always about!!!

In the past month I've gotten back into the tuning game with my car, started rolling fenders for guys on the weekend and generally being re-ignited. So what point am I getting too, not sure really! LOL More so I think I just wanted to share with my local members, old and new as to how I've seen things from a far. Furthermore, to let people know that I am happy to be a resource wherever I can be! Thread's, PM's, shop email, whatever! You need parts, let me know! You need advice, let me know! Want to talk tuning, let me know!

I have returned and the B&B might have to as well!!!!

You bet! Drove my 02 wrx off the lot brand new in 2002 and was modding it with in 3 months! I've also had a '92 JDM WRX and now my '04 WRX Wagon in that time too... I owned all three at once but that was a bit much so the JDM rex went to a new home.

I've only been here for a few years but I feel kind of old school just by age. I have noticed things change in the time I've been on here. Some things bad but a lot of good too.
Yes, there are a whole new crop of guys with 2012 and 2013 STIs that don't know as much as the old school guys. And there are also a bunch of JDM cars showing up around town that hardly anybody knows what to do with. But that's what the car culture is all about, the guys who know showing the guys who don't. And sometimes the new-schoolers teach the old schoolers some brand new stuff. So we definitely need the old school guys to stick around and we need new blood too.

Anyway, If you are openning up the B&Bs to members of less than 10 years i'm in

just because everyone likes pictures...

Jason that photo of my '02 sure is a stark change from where it is now, kind of mind blowing actually! I totally remember that too! Tein springs were the first part you ever installed for me!

Marlon, I definitely still have the 02, I'll never sell it!!! It's been hibernating for far too long though!! Just need to find some significant time to tear into it and get some stuff done, and there is A LOT to be done!!

Sounds like planning a B&B is in order!!! Stay tuned

5851th member...unlike other car forums I have joined I have made long lasting friends in this one, got jobs through it. It has changed a lot but I still check in daily. Also on my 4th Subaru now. '99 2.5RS, '01 Legacy, '04 Sti and my current '09 FXT. That being said I think this will be my last Subaru unless they bring the diesel over or make something that can tow 5K plus lbs.

Check out Patr for true local old school membership.

NMBR 97....and I think Ken is 39 or 37 or something...OG
