I would put in a picture of it, but it looks the same as it did before putting on the film.

I have had Xpel on my Element since 2003 and its done a good job, so we decided to go with it from the start on the Imp. I MUCH prefer the film to the deflectors. But thats just me....

I thought about the film, but I actually like the look of the hood protector. I put one on my Element the first month I had it and I have yet to see one single chip on my hood (of course the hood sits up substantially higher). Plus the deflector for the Impreza is quite attractive with a little more curvature to it.

Looking good man! I am going to tint my car very soon. Going for a combined percentage (with stock tint) of 35%.

Thanks! My front is definitely not 35% when combined with the stock, little darker. Could've used it all around. Whole thing turned out darker than I thought it would, but I'm still happy with it. Shop I went to is really good but is a very small place with only 3 films to pick from. Glad I didn't decide to go with 5% in the back.

Car looks great! I ordered the same car except a Limited with the splash guards, hood protector, moonroof deflector, and roof spoiler. Yesterday I saw a Camellia Red Limited and thought to myself "wow, I should have went for that color". After seeing your pics, I'm happy I went with the gray! Looks great shined up. Unfortunetly my car isn't scheduled to be here until may.

Love the Outbacks too!

I may toss wider wheels on the WRX and put the T3s on the Impreza.
Is the white wrx yours too? Did you purchase the 12 as a daily driver to keep miles off your 06?

You and me both, but apparently they enable you to see a 'critical area' of the road. Whatever did we do before this important safety feature?

"Subaru also designed a small triangle window and moved the outside mirrors back, all to make it much easier to see what's in front and beside the Impreza."

If you hate the car so much, why are you in this thread? Perhaps a little jelly since you bought your Impreza just before the redesign?

I dont think its for your own safety, Rather, a safety for pedestrians. I remember once some kid ran away from his parent across the street, and If i hadn't been paying attention and looking around, I would've never seen the kid cross, because his head was barely over the tip of the mirror and pillar..

Seems like most of the haters don't like the new Imp because it's not like an old Imp in some way (power, looks, blah blah blah). It's funny because Subaru is saying, in a pretty straightforward manner, "All of our die hard clientele probably won't like this car as much. And that's fine because there aren't many of them anyway. We want Corolla and Civic buyers because there are MILLIONS of them EVERY YEAR."

I'm a Civic buyer. I love my new Imp in every way. I don't like anything about the old Imps. I think they were ugly, gas guzzling, unreliable, boi-ricer-mobiles and I never once considered buying one.

I bet the next WRX will make the fanbois bust on themselves and not even blip my radar.

I think I saw a post recently about Subaru "selling-out"...

To each his own, right?

No, you have a right to your opinion. It's just the snide remark about my statement of the 'critical area' that you speak of. You were just proven that the better visibility it provides is more than just my opinion.

Hey, its not Pontiac Aztec or Gremlin ugly.

I think the car looks way better in person than in photos, it is hard to get a sense of the proportions in the pics, the back end looks huge and boxlike, but in reality it isn't bad.

I personally wonder why anyone would dump another $1,000 just to add all the plastic bits and the new grill -- OEM looks fine, and the external plastic does not make it any faster or more fun to drive -- but to each is own.

In case it isn't obvious, how a car looks is not the first thing I care about. How about reliable, AWD, fun to drive, and now averaging 30mpg (on the dash, probably closer to 28.5mpg in reality).

And a LOT can happen in 200,000 miles! You might find like me that you start to love how it looks, in every quirky way that makes a Subaru a Subaru (particularly a two tone subaru)...

Maybe I'm alone here. But the looks of the car were the reason I bought it. I didnt even notice the mirrors when I bought it and I don't really understand why someone wouldn't like them. Oh well. Lol.

For me, the "plastic bits" are for style. I'm not spending anywhere near $1000 for what I am getting though, somewhere nearer to $400 or so, but absorbed into the financing, I am not going to notice the extra cost. I'm just doing the underspoiler, sport splash guards and strake kit from the factory, and eventually I'm doing the grill myself (because I want to do the lower grill from the same material). Enough to give the car a somewhat aggressive look, but not so much it looks ridiculous.

Not everything we add to the car has to make it faster or more fun to drive. Otherwise, why have leather seats? (why does the manual sport not get leather as an option?) why even put carpet in the car or interior plastic?

We got lost of the "plastic" bits . . . front grille, underspoiler, rear spoiler, aero splash guards, side moldings . . . but we got them all for under invoice, so in the end it wasn't that much money at all . . . I have no problem spending a few hundred more if it makes the car look considerably better. No one will buy this car for the speed. So what's wrong with wanting to get 36mpg and look good doing it?

I'm glad people want to personalize their cars. Subaru is more than happy to encourage it as well. I like my OEM sport and the only extra external plastic I added were the side moldings because I thought it might protect the paint. If the aero splash guards actually looked like they did anything to protect the car I would have added those. Non-practical plastic isn't for me.

I just wish some of the plastic pieces weren't so damn much money. Something like a front lip spoiler should not cost 400-600 IMO. I'm hoping the aftermarket makes a trunk lip spoiler replica. That might be worth getting.
