Default Thoughts on returning C lights back to OEM

I bought my 17 wrx last year and the c lights were a new thing for me. After the first wash, one started to flicker. This got worse quickly then one went dead. Now the other flickers and goes out sometimes. Checked bulbs, of course… no issue.

Upon getting parts for a bunch of mods, I thought to get new led replacement bulbs for them… but I got no output from when installed, even though it lit up. Yanked battery to look and appears previous owner put Morimoto or Diode Dynamics c lights in the are blocking light from factory position bulb… but also aren’t working.

I’d like to return it to stock c lights with the brighter led bulbs. Realize I’ll need to pull bumper cover and headlights to pull them open and yank the aftermarket ones and the awful harness job I found.

Question is: ideas to make it easier… order new sealant… do I need a new OEM diffuser for under the c light cover? I’m looking for reliable function over form.
