![]() if you got extra cash make it safer and buy the killer b oil kit. more oil, stays cooler, and you wont oil starve. I imagine 400+whp would cause oil to slosh around in stock oil pan pretty easily.

![]() So I've changed up my build some. 1300cc ID Injectors, Cobb fuel rails and line kit, Dom cylinder 4 cooling kit. Also going with the Crawford V3 aos not IAG. Shooting for 430-450 whp. The BCP x500+ should easily make big power. I'll start adding pictures as I tare into this build.

![]() Update:
I'v added a few mods to my build. South Bend stg 3 clutch, DW hard wire kit and P&L rails, lines, and regulator. I have the pump and hard wire kit done. Group N motor mounts, pitch stop and trans mount are in. My car is scheduled with P&L Motorsport on the 18th of this month to have all parts installed. The week following Corbin Johnson will tune my car. |

![]() Interested in your results as well, been wanting any info on how stout these “new” pistons are. Was thinking about making a thread for 19 STI’s and RA’s to have people post mods and experience with the newer pistons being any better/ other issues encountered.

As far as what liquid, it's all about making that liquid change to a gas as fast as possible as that's what will use the most energy (heat absorption). So any liquid that evaporates faster than water should be more effective (a lot of people use windshield washer fluid because of it's methanol content). There are limitations - Most people see no cooling benefit running over 50% methanol/alcohol, while the safety risk skyrockets above those levels. |

![]() Got a little progress done this weekend, well actually a lot. turbo, up pipe, injectors, rails, header and almost all of the aos are installed. I ended up swapping my Socal tgvs for Torque Solutions.

I was planning on having Jr. Barrios (JRTuned) tune my car this summer...he tunes out of P&L here in Chicagoland area. I know this topic has been beaten to death in the community, but what is your take on 400whp on stock block? This is my first STI currently at 420 miles. Thanks. |

Nice work so far on the build. Overall, how would you rate the "ease of wrenching" on the STI? I have built several motors in the past, so I know my way around car engines and bays...however, some of my previous projects (300ZX) were a nightmare to work on. The Subbies easier in your opinion? Also, I hope it's true what you said about the Type RA motors holding up to 500whp. If true, it will be nice to maintain the stock block for a bit. |
