Removing silencer from the air pump system.
On my 2007 Sti there is a silencer/baffle under the intake. This connects via a wye pipe from the air pump to that valve at the back of the engine. Do we really need it? Does it serve a function other than "sound?" Has anyone plumbing the air pump directly into that valve? Any issues with that? Seeing that pump only runs 1-2 minutes are start up, the sound should not be an issue. Or is there some other function that device is performing?
