![]() So I took my throttle body off to clean it up, hoping that some gunk was stopping the throttle plate from seating and causing my idle stumbling issue. I cleaned it all up but noticed that it still doesn't fully close. Is this normal? First picture is it as it sits, second is with me putting pressure on the plate with my finger to fully close it.

![]() Cracked open the throttle control case and found this. Like like I could easily pull that center great, close the plate fully, then reseat the gear. Is it possible it slipped a couple teeth, or is this where it naturally sits and the throttle control compensates for the slack by backing the drive gear up a couple teeth when it's supposed to be fully closed?

![]() Yeah, it's not supposed to close fully / seal at rest. Looks 100% normal.

![]() I just checked an old picture with my engine out of the car. Yes the butterfly plate is not fully closed.
