also consider the sumitomo htrz3, federal 595rsr, federal 595, and falken fk452.
bridgestone re960 is an all-season, no need for that in the SCIC. between the 3 tires you listed and those i listed, i'd compare the sumitomo htrz3, federal 595rsr, hankook v12 evo, and falken fk452. |

I just got 4 225/45-17 v12 Hankooks for $400 shipped
Only have ~20 miles on them so far.....but they are quiet and ride well. the mold release is still wearing off....but these seem to be pretty good so far. If you think that you just gotsta have steel stiff sidewalls for whatever reason....these are NOT the tire for you. |

If you don't want to spend much, definitely consider Federal tires.
the SS595 are about Khumo Ecsta SPT levels from what I gather The 595 evo are moreso a wet/dry competition tire, a step up from the SS595 The 595RS-R are flat out semi-slicks that are actually fitted to lotus competition cars. Very competitive from what I have read. I'm deciding between the EVO and SS for my next tires. I have done TONS of research on multiple forums and the guys who have used federal tires pretty much don't switch back to any other brand thereafter. The price to performance ration can't be beat. www.onlinetires.com is the best place to find all these although google search 'federal tires' and you'll find a few others that sell it. They are so affordable you can essentially afford new tires every season only sacrificing a little performance over top-of-the-line stuff. |

id just want to thank every one for there in put and good overall advice first off.
hmm didnt see any reviews or commemnts on the dunlop direzza's hmmmmm ?? is this a good tire?? and yeah im looking for something with a good sidewall. i have federal 595's on my stockies. there good but i took them out on the track and they just felt so slippy-slidy!!! well compared to the dunlop's i have on my other wheels which felt really sticky plus there stretched. hmm so hankook doesnt have that good a side wall??? hmmm what do u guys think then about those direzza's or the potenza's??? oh and the new size im looking for is now 255/35/18. and yes ive been on that website so i think im picking my tires up from onlinetires.com. thank you for the referral and thank you guys for the advice....wiating to hear more good advice on these other two tires . -jerry |

if you want a tire you can take to the track, you're gonna need to up your budget. none of the tires listed make for good track tires...
also, support our vendors: www.tirerack.com and www.citytireonline.com look at the nitto nt05, kuhmo ecsta xs, and dunlop starspecs. |

If you do NOT have the 595RS-R http://www.federaltire.com/en/html/p...&pdline=3&ID=3# then you likely have one of the lower performance versions. The 595RS-R is a no joke, MAX performance tire and of all the tires I have had over the years....my favorite street tire by FAR |

just remember that they run V E R Y W I D E
as in......dont get the size you THINK you want.....get the next smaller size and it wont be too wide I had the 235/40 and they were EASILY as wide as a 255.....and too wide for a 7.5" wide wheel I will be perfectly happy with a 215/45 the next time I buy them....and they will fit the wheel better |

595rs-r here and love them. Quite with awesome dry AND wet performance. They have lasted longer than I expected. Definite bang for buck factor.
Get them from citytireonline. They are in inglewood. Awesome guys with unbelievable prices. |

I work for discount tire and hear really good things about the dunlops they have a nice sidewall as well as the re760's. both sets will ride nicely and wear pretty evenly with little problems as long as you keep them balanced and rotated.

unfortuantely they don't make anything smaller than 215, which is the size i want, so hopefully i'll be ok on the stock rims...
