Blindspot???
Drove an 05 Sentra for seven years, pretty low seat height, never had blindspot troubles. Got the 13 WRX and adjusted the seat higher in order to see over the hoodscoop. Been noticing that I'm having trouble spotting cars in my blindspot even when constantly adjusting the mirrors. Anybody else ride with the seat adjustment high and have the same problem or is unrelated?

No. But, I have my side mirrors adjusted so that nothing I see in them I can see in the rear view mirror. You might, too, but a lot of people have overlap because it makes them feel more secure but I had a huge blind spot if I set it up like that.

Never had any trouble seeing in 10' wrx..and the hood scoop blends in with hood unlike previous years so I can't see that would be an issue.

Have you tried turning your head when you go to change lanes?
Is it possible that you need to go back to Drivers Ed? |

Or are you one of those that likes to see the front bumper as they drive? Makes no sense to me but my girlfriend refuses to drive unless she can see the front bumper. |

Makes a big difference having the side mirrors rotated out. Most people like to be able to see their rear wheels, but they need to be rotated much further out to get rid of that blindspot. Takes some getting used to, but definitely worth it. |

My rearview mirrow is tilted towards the passenger side rear window. When you look through the rearview mirror you'll see the middle brake light on the far left side or the rearview mirror. I adjusted the seat height and that made a world of difference since I couldn't see out of the rear passenger side window from the rearview mirror with the elevated seat height. I'll try sticking with this setup for now.

once again..have you tried turning your head?? i'm not sure why you're trying to look out the back passenger side window through your rear view anyways. when changing lanes you should not only be utilizing your mirrors but also you should be turning your head unless you have a handicap that does not allow to. Not ripping on ya but you seem like you don't know how to drive. |

isn't that why it's called blind spot in the first place?
you have to turn your head to see the blind spot |

OP, I don't know if you have a sedan or a hatch (fill out your profile as it will help you get better info), but I DO notice that the hatch does have a relatively bigger blindspot than I expected and took me a bit to get used to in comparison to the sedan and an FXT. I do have to have the side mirrors angled out a bit further than on previous cars, which does help.
And to the other asshats in this thread, piss off . . . this is the newbies forum. If you want to be a dick, go to general and on your way out, review the sticky at the top of the page |
