the ej22 drive train is engineered to last at least 250,000 miles w/only minimal maintenance.
the boxer engine is inherently smoother than a V engine. symetrical all wheel drive. AWD rules. they build very functional and fun to drive cars. good value. |

Personally I think Subaru make great functional cars with a purpose but I won't go as far as saying it is the best car company ever.

I dont know if this is applicable for the company, but, once you buy a Subaru your part of a family. The community is amazing.
And yes, the best AWD out there. Very safe, reliable cars. |

^^Yeah, Subarus are great and I love them, but they are not the best at all.
I love the AWD, the fun factor, the way cars stand out from any other car out there |

What sort of work requires you to do book reports?...about car companies?
and FYI - Lexus is the best car company ever. Pick up a copy of "The Lexus Story" and you'll understand why. |

Because Subaru don't compromise. It has a firm vision about its cars and sticks to its formula regardless of what the rest of the world says. Of couse, that could also be called stubborn.

i think they have a good platform. i dont like front wheel drive, i dont like transaxles, and i hate V8's
subaru is the most logicale choice for me. they balence fun with safety, performance, technical merit, and value. no brand imo is more concerned about thier buyers. the dealers are another thing all together, but subaru i like. |

The beauty of AWD and everything they sell is AWD, atleast over here.
Some may point out that Vovlo has great AWD and that AWD is great to have, but then why don't they sell everything in AWD. Well Subaru does. MPG AWD SAFETY and the worst tires you can buy! |

There's a car in their lineup for almost any taste.
You can get a very pedestrian Forester to the race-car in training, the STi. All with AWD. I think that they are oriented towards the general population. Instead of trying to make outrageous concepts every year, they constantly refine the models they have. They also have a strong grip on where they came from with models like the Baja. |

1. Subaru = Makes good cars.
2. SOA = Doesn't care if anyone DIAF caused by fuel leak. 3. Dealers = One of the worst reasons evar. Terrible customer services. #3 is based on my experience, but all dealers in 30 mile radius from where I live suck really bad. This is the main reason that's preventing me buying another Subaru. |

Jack of all trades, master of none. Good in all areas, but not best in any of them.

Before I bought the car (coming from the Z-car frame of mind) I thought the front end was really weird/ugly. Last night I pull into a parking place in front of a big shop window. It looked like Predator was eyeing me. Perhaps that's one reason so many folks pull over to let me pass. I don't tailgate, but I do tend to appear in the rear view mirror pretty quickly. At a gas station a couple of months ago a guy with a BMW, asked what it was, because a silver one had pulled up so quick on him he thought it was a cop. |

personally i wouldn't call subaru the best car company. there's lots of things i like about them, but they all relate to the cars themselves and definitely NOT the company itsself, especially SOA and warranty claim denial (i've never brought my subaru in for a warranty claim, and btw i work in the car business too so i understand both sides ) |

I must agree. I don't know that Subaru is the best car company, but it's certainly right up there. What I find lacking is a decent truck offering, though I'm not as interested in a truck. The Baja had my interest for a while, but I was disappointed with the final result.
On the other hand a sporty car with AWD was something I dreamed about when I was in seventh grade eons ago (late 70's). A car that's fun to drive no matter what the conditions or weather. From what I'm seeing however, Subaru has definitely been improving. It does have this in its favor, a lot of people are hooked once they've had a Subaru. I guarantee the next new car I buy will be a Subaru. |

Owning a subaru has been a dream since I learned what a car was. I always watched WRC on TV when I could, and I loved the look of the original STi's. The cars are insanely dependable, the handling(on newer models) are set perfectly for what each model is designed for, AWD...need I say more?, and you get the same performance many upper class models offer, at half the price or less. Sure I'd love a 911 Porsche, but I can always get an STi and only be dissapointed by the slightly lessened sex-ee factor and better gas mileage.
BTW: I always wondered...if with a few swapped parts, you could make the 02-04 Impreza's look like Dodge Neons? *not that anyone would want too though* ~Levvy |

a couple of things why im obsessed with Subaru:
AWD ( like no one else) their uniqueness vs every other car brand (all AWD.. designs etc) their fun the pursuit of their passion (AWD) reliability (they last forever) overall quality value for the money (you cant top it) horizontally opposed engines (H#) the best reason of all "unlike hondas and toyotas here in the south.. not everyone and their mom owns one.. so not everyone has wat i have |
