Default I wanna see pics of Legacy Wagons!

Hi guys,

I would like to buy a used 2000 Legacy wagon but for one Legacy wagon there are 10 Legacy Outbacks.

My intent with the car is to modify the suspension, brakes, and maybe bring the car to 190 or 200 hp.

Is the Outback a disadvantage considering those goals ???

And does anyone have a picture of an Outback with painted bumpers similar to body color ?? I do not like to two tone look and wanted to know how it looked with just one color. I also want to see what people did as mods on their wagons to give me some ideas.

Thanks !!!

Corrado

Depends... you can get the H6 in the outback, which puts you a lot closer to the 200hp mark there. But, your handling for the road is worse, with a higher suspension and such. Don't know much about the outbacks, but you could probably drop it quite a bit to improve the handling with an aftermarket suspension setup.

There's very few aftemarket suspension products, for the OB. I'd stick with the Legacy, if you're going to do tons of mods - the drivetrain's the same.

Thumbs up Very Nice

200GT Wagon, Man, I'SSS nice!

I'll attach a pic of my 2003 2.5GT Wagon when I get back to my home computer...

But, I wanted to tell you: I just traded in my Outback (2000) for this 2.5GT, and I can tell you that the Outback handled VERY good for a stock car with a med/high off-road profile...but there's so many out there, and who needs the clearance, (not me,) Still got AWD for dirt/sand/snow.

Anyway...the GT handles better, that's fer sure. But any Subaru will feel great!...but, uh,

If you can, hold out for a GT legacy. I like it better than the outback. The outback may offer the H6, but the Legacy 2.5GT ('03) has the sportshift auto. I have been told that the AWD system uses up so much torque that you can feel the diference of the H6 more in the wallet (gas and 10k more in price.)Certainly, my 4-banger is no "powerhorse", (actually it is, for what it is,) but I hope to hop up the power by installing Cobb tuning parts: Cold air intake and exhaust, ect.

Check ya later,
JTN

Default GTs

Thanks for the compliments. I must say I really do enjoy driving this car. My main gripe would actually be the brakes before the engine. I dont really need to go 0-60 in 5 seconds.... but someday I MAY need to stop a lot quicker than these brakes can. They feel a bit weak. but overall - great handling -- especially with the 18"s and Yokohamas!!

2000GT Wagon,

how do you like the ride ?

I'm planning to haul my kid&dog in my car, I don't know if 18's would be too harsh.

Default Here are some more pics...

Here are some other pics. Though it may look lowered, these is stock suspension. I think the dark wheels play tricks on the eyes and make it appear lowered. The only mods I have done (so far) are:

- the OZ P1 rims with 215/40ZR-18 Yokohama Parada tires
- K&N filter (for whatever it's worth)
- Xenon HID headlight conversion (AWESOME - www.hids4less.com)
- tint
- 80w catz gold foglight bulbs (I also removed the diffusers in the fogs, because they couldnt take the heat - very bright)
- Pioneer speakers up front
- titanium shift knob (which I hate, and put back in box after a few months)

Other than that, its all stock.
A turbo kit would be my dream...but this damn extended warranty (and the wallet) keep getting in the way!

Question

Good looking wagon. Have an 01 Black GT Wagon. How did you get the fog lamp bulbs out?

Default Bulbs

It's fairly easy to change the bulbs...

-Basically you go under the car (easier if you jack that side up)
-remove the clips holding the black plastic cover in front of the wheel, and pull the cover down and out of the way (it can bend... its plastic)
-thern you'll see the fog assembly. Unscrew the assembly (looks like the headlight one, just smaller)
- Then just swing the metal clip holding the bulb in place, and unplug the two bulb wires
-Insert new bulb, and reverse the process!

Thats about it == if you need more detail you can PM me.

Me racing my wifes 2001 VDC

The car is fairly stock, K&N air filter and I hacked the resonator. Suprising what an H6 sounds like under WOT. We borrowed the WRX rims & tires for the day.

Justin's wagon is not just nice, it's got sportshift in it too.

If I ever come across a genie, I will wish for sportshift in my car.

Default Ride of 18"s

Corrado - I forgot to answer your question about the ride quality with the 18" wheels...

It is great! You can definitely tell the difference -- mainly you feel more connected to the road. Sometimes they will "track" in grooves in the road, but the ride is NOT what I would consider harsh at all. I rode in a friend's M3 and I couldnt believe how harsh that was. My suspension feels like a cloud compared to that!

bottom line - I bought the 18's because 17's were so hard to find at the time. But i am SOOO glad I went with the 18's. They fill the wells up just right, and handling is amazing!
