That would be awesome. Especially now that I'm caught up (yes, I'm a guilty binge watcher) and I enjoy your videos. Sorry to see that you're not driving with Subaru anymore, but glad you maintained a positive attitude and are still posting content for those of us that are fellow fans.

Well thatís stupid. If you go up to someone and say ďhow do you like my sweater: itís knit not boughtĒ the last thing theyíre going to assume is that you paid someone to knit you a sweater. It implies you did NOT pay to have something done, and that YOU made it.

Buckys done a good share of labor on his car and more than most have... but if you just mean you canít buy it off the showroom floor the term loses the lions share of its meaning. His rally cars and the GR he had on that other stupid SoCal YouTube show that i forget the name of are also ďbuilt not boughtĒ but he didnít wrench on those anywhere near as much. So whatís the meaning of the term? And more to the point... why call a series built not bought and then have it literally buying a ton of labor?

Just seems like a meaningless term for people who are depressed and boring to use to make them feel better about not having a stock Tesla.

Bucky!!! Saw the video of you hanging out with mah boy Travis from Snail (used to work with him) and started watching your build videos. Great work, so great that you inspired me to start another build!

I just today ordered a rear seat delete set from 6oc cause of your vids, and they said they are working on sedan door skins so I'm going to hold off hunting for JDM door skins and just go with 6oc!

Keep up the good work man!

Built not Bought

A phrase used by car enthusiasts. It means the current owner of the car in question has paid for and/or done all the work to it themselves, rather than buying it pre-modified or renovated by a previous owner. This commands great respect by fellow enthusiasts.

https://www.urbandictionary.com/defi...20not%20bought

If you're trying to say "real" Subaru "Built not Bought" enthusiasts actually fabricate each and every part in every single situation AND install them (according loosely to definition number one on that page), then that would be BS.

What I am saying is paying a shop to assemble your car is “bought” not built. You gotta do the majority of wrenching yourself to claim that you built it. Seems pretty obvious to me.

I believe he did me real dirty, destroyed my car in many ways. Holes everywhere and a horrible install. Alarm left me stranded last week due to a bad crimped connection that I had to trouble shoot and finally found. I got Yelp immediately after and left him a not so nice review.

Haha, youíre funny and pretty lame for saying that. I built this entire car with help from knowledgeable friends when I needed it. Just because I canít install a stereo or alarm doesnít mean I didnít do what I could when I could. I did finish and fix a lot of things that were wrong with the stereo and alarm. Yawn, you tired bro

What a hater dude, built not bought means exactly what I did. Iíve been building this car from the ground up not paying others to do it and picking it up done. Just because I paid to have an alarm and a couple speakers put in your going to be like this and say my whole car was bought. Sounds like some troll hate to me. I fixed pretty much everything this dude did anyway.

Your car looks like fun man!

For the record, I was trying to clarify the term built not bought. I wasn't saying you didn't build your car.

Sometimes you have to pay the people who are experts in there field. Have you ever seen chip foose install a windshield? Nope, he couple probably do it but would it be done as good as it could be. I do 99% of my own work, I know what to leave to the professionals. I wonder how many people on here have truly built a car. Buying a 2018 sti and bolting on everything available is not a build.

I did absolutely everything and if not by myself I assisted. The only thing I didnít do was the stereo and alarm. (Both of which I had to fix.) Excuse me, would you like a refill on your Hateraid.

Everyone needs a little help, accepting some from someone who may know better should not be an issue. What’s next are we gonna argue that he did not actually build each and every part on the car himself. It’s absurd. I think you get the point of the title. Besides it’s a fun channel just watch and enjoy.
