Default Tuning WGDC: EWG, 3 PORT EBCS, TD04

Current Modifications: Walbro 255 fuel pump, TD04, Tial 44mm wastegate with a 6 psi spring, grimmspeed up-pipe, invidia catless downpipe, magnaflow catback, and a grimmspeed 3 port ebcs.

Any advice what to set my WGDC Max, and Int.? Turbo Dynamics Bust and Continuous? Target boost is 19.6 psi, and I only hit it in 5th, 18 in 4th, 15 in 2nd and 3rd, and 12-13 in 1st.

Looking for more boost in the lower gears.

Using the new version of ROMRDR and ECU Flash.

Thanks!

Because the stock ECU doesn't have wastegate compensation per gear. Even if it did you would still be hard pressed to hit 19.5 psi in first gear.

I understand that. I'm not looking for target in first. Sorry if I misled.

My boost just keeps tapering bad, which I'd guess is from trying to hit triple what my wastegate springs at. Even though tials diagram says it's a 1 bar spring.

TD04 boost tapering at high RPM is not a wastegate or boost control issue, it's an issue with the turbo reaching it's maximum flow.

Update:

I now have a 1 bar spring setup (I make 14-15 psi) on wastegate pressure.

Currently have the stock WGDC and burst and continuous on there. WGDC on idle is 25 for whatever reason.

I'm hitting target boost in 3-5, but it runs extremely rich, and there's lots of flutter.

I'd guess turn the wgdc down? But what about the burst/continuous? What sections of the max wgdc should I change?

Also, my turbo is doing exactly what it's being told to at 3-5. Hits 19 and drops slowly to 17.

Actually hitting target boost in the lower gears is possible without overboosting in 4th and 5th. I have a grimmspeed 3 port and a hallman pro rx mbc in a hybrid configuration. 21psi in ALL gears

Running rich doesnt have anything to do with your WGDC, play with your OL targets. At idle you dont need a lot of WGDC as you arent making any boost. From 50% throttle I have mine set to ~90% from ~1500-3 or 3500 RPM. What you can do is lower the table say 10% and see if your still hitting target boost. If not raise a couple of PSI at a time and re-check. For the flutter you most likely need to lower the WGDC in that RPM range.

edit: Got home from school. The last 2 columns (87.5 and 100% throttle) I have set to 80% wgdc from 2000-4000 rpm's, then 67 down to 57.

I had 24 peak to 21 psi at red line, now I'm not saying it made the best or optimum power at that boost level BUT it did do it.

For me the 'choice' was 22 to 18 psi...

TD04's are underrated for a fun DD
