What is P/N for 2016 Fog Light SWITCH?
Does anyone know the OEM P/N for the foglight switch for model year 2016 WRX? The switch used and fits in BRZ/FRS and 2015 WRX is too big to fit in the same housing for 2016 models (see pic below between that switch and the 2016 blank insert). Even Subispeed confirms the 2015 switch is not compatible with 2016: "NOTE: Currently the switch is not compatible with 2016+ models. Please choose the 2016+ kit if you do not own a 2015."
I'd like to use the switch specifically to independently control the Rear JDM Fog Light. Thanks for any help.

Spud used a Forester switch and bezel, but in his 15.
http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...6#post42996906 Not sure if this is the same thing that come with the BRZ's but its worth a shot. If you get a set and it doesn't work out I'll by them from you, they'll fit my car, and I'll need a set before to long. Part numbers are in the thread above. |

Alternative, I could also use a simple SPST switch to wire it up. Probably $10-15; much less expensive. |

You can use another "blank" to install the existing switch
Guys, See pictures. This is what I did. I removed the lower left blank (plastic cap) and installed the "big" switch in that using some double sided tape. It sits really nice and looks kinda OEM too.
In the second image, it looks a bit off but u can't really see the gap unless u really bend down and look at it closely. |

I'm hopping the bezel will accommodate the BIG fog switch. I'll know this Friday when the bezel comes in. |

Hey bodegabay, how did this end up working out? Did the 2016 dash dimmer switch work with the bezel you got? Any photos? Also where did you buy the parts? Thanks

Sorry I missed your post. Let me recount what I was originally looking for. I have a 2016 Limited with front fog lights; that front fog light switch is on the left turn signal stalk. I installed the JDM rear foglight with intention of only using it as a rear fog light (not a 4th brake light, not pulsing flashes, etc.). I wanted a second fog light switch to control that JDM rear fog light. I tried several methods: -------------------------------- 1. Obtain a Subaru OEM BRZ fog light switch that will sit in the blank space next to the dimmer switch on the bezel. That didn't work out because the 2016 bezel contains different hole sizing. The BRZ switch will only fit on the 2015 WRX bezel. 2. Change the bezel from 2016 to 2015. The bezel is of exact dimensions with same mounting points. That didn't work out either because now the 2016 dash dimmer switch will not fit in the 2015 bezel. 3. As user "ngwrx2016" suggested in his post, use the BRZ OEM fog light switch the blank space next to the traction control button. It requires some creative customization which I didn't opted for. 4.The 4th option is to find the foglight button P/N that's used in the Subaru foglight kit. This button would fit in the blank space next to the dimmer switch and trunk release button. Unfortunately this wasn't an option for me since my Limited has Blind Spot Detection button in that location; no blank for me. However owners with out BSD can use that blank space. -------------------------------- I finally resigned to the fact I had to install an aftermarket 12v switch. I used a low profile surface mount 12v light switch (with red LED indicator) sourced from Parts Express and installed it where the fuse box cover is. It turned out looking pretty good. I'll take pics of it when I get home tonight. Last edited by bodegabay; 12-06-2015 at 09:53 PM. Reason: Added 4th option. |

I apologize for not answering question, well I actually found the part number, if you search for a 2015 Forester fog light install there is someone on a Forester forum that lists parts and numbers and the bezel is identical to the wrx. But what I did because I didn't buy a kit was purchase a new turn signal stalk from ebay that had fog light function on it and swapped it with my base signal stalk that was sans fog function.

The swtich on the RIGHT of that pic can be found here: http://www.fteightysix.com/new-produ.../#.VWUYwdPBzRZ. It will fit into any BRZ or 2015 (only) WRX. Credit to user Squattro; look up his original #27 post in this build thread: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show....php?t=2686735 |

Correct. The 2016+ switch bezel has smaller openings for the dimmer and the blank to the right and thus the 2016 dimmer switch will not fit a 2015 and the 2015 fog-lamp switch will not fit into the blank to the right in the 2016 bezel.

So here is my question on a 2018 STI Limited with BSM can I pull the BSM Switch and put the fog in its place? (Is the original plug there for power the fog switch that you can tap into like the 15+) Behind the dash panel that has the dimmer switch you will find the fog light switch harness/connector taped up to the harness from factory. Pullback the black wire loom to expose the 4 wires coming off this connector. from https://forums.nasioc.com/forums/sho....php?t=2816478
Thanks! Wondering also, if unplugging it causes it to be off all the time or on... guessing off and probably a dash light. |

bump for thread revival.
has anyone sourced an appropriate OEM switch to fit 2016+ ? i found this on the interweb and not sure if it's an OEM Subaru switch or aftermarket that just happened to fit very nicely in the spot. the thread it was posted on was pertaining to the XV Crosstrek: https://www.clubcrosstrek.com/forums...dash-2219.html Last edited by itsse03; 09-28-2018 at 02:03 PM. |

Bump. My 2015 WRX (2nd owner) came with Morimoto fog lights wired to the rounded Toyota 86 switch that sits next to the interior lighting dimmer, but it's not turning on anymore, so my fogs aren't working.
Anyone know where these can be purchased? Is it the switch that's dead or the relay? All fuses seem to be fine... |

The switch and the relay can each be tested.
******* The rocker-switch used in the above picture is an aftermarket item. ******* You can install the switch-bezel from a 2015 in order to use the Toyota 86 fog-lamp switch, but you will also need a dimmer switch from a 2015. The rest of the switches, upper outer and lower, are the same size and fitment from 2014+ and can be inter-changed. ******* My 2016 WRX STI LTD fog-lamp switch is integrated into the OEM head-lamp switch. The large square fog-lamp switch is for/from a kit or for other Subaru models. ******* You can also install a JDM switch-bezel, which uses the 2015 dimmer-switch and BRZ/86 fog-lamp switch Last edited by Big-E; 06-12-2019 at 05:50 PM. |
