Looks flawless! I'll be running a similar setup (spec wise) shortly, good to see it fits well!

what size wheels are they?
what size tires will you be using? guys, this isn't just a 'post pictures' thread. it is meant to be helpful for others to gauge what wheel setups will work, and/or the different amounts of work needed to make different setups work. blindly posting pics with vague specs, or no specs at all, is not helpful. please try to include all of the items outlined in the first post (wheel specs, tire specs, suspension setup, spacer, fender work, etc) |

18x9 +38 5X100 WORK XD9's. Fortune 500 coilovers 10K/10K spring rates front and back. Fenders rolled. Nitto NT05'S 245/40R18 tires. Muteki extended lug nuts and locking kit. If that helps.

I've been wanting to get my hands on the matte blue version. How deep is the lip on them 18x9? Is it possible to take a pic?

I've seen from two accounts that +45 is perfect. But that was on 11+ hatches On stock suspension. +35 is a little too much offset for me |

Strange, +45 is a great offset for the narrow bodies, while the wide bodies run +38 18x9.5 all day long, I imagine 9" wide and +35 would be easy for them.

Anyway, I'll do something about it soon, and yet it really isn't a problem to leave it as it is. Not with these tires at least. But, because the clearance is so snug, a tire change to a different brand in the same size may just force me to change things up with either new top hats or spacers. Hey guys, I recently put some 17" grids on my 2010 wrx sedan with oem size tires (225/45/17). The wheels however look a bit to small so I'm thinking about going to a 18" wheel tire combo. The wheels I'm looking at are 18x8 +48 offset, I'm curious which size tire should I go for it's either 225/40/18 or 235/40/18? I want no tire stretch as this is my daily driver. I'm just looking for a good fit as I'm about to upgrade my suspension as well, nothing crazy either Koni's with Epic springs or gtworx cup kit with rce springs. Thanks and sorry for the rambling!

18x8 +48 is going to put your wheels tucked under the car quite a bit, especially in the rear. As far as no stretch, 235 is pretty square on an 8" rim. With the setup you described, you won't need to roll the fenders though which is a plus. Now, prob aesthetically with running 18's on the RCE/Bilstein setup is that it will make your wheel gap look funny as the drop is only 5/8". In which case you're really better off sticking with 17" wheels which will have the added benefit of pothole protection. I ran 17x8" +47 with 245/40/17's prior to my current setup for 25k miles, and liked it, but with my new turbo I decided I wanted more grip and got the 17x9" RPF1's with 255/40/17's. You'll really like the GTworx cup kit. If you do get it, set the height on the middle clip position in the rear for the level look. Best of luck, and if you have any more questions, feel free to ask. BTW, I have pics of my car with the new setup posted on this thread from a couple weeks ago...about a page or two back. |

Not sure why they made the RCE blacks except for there's pansies out there that can't handle a "sporting ride." I drive for Uber and have people in my car all the time and it's not an issue. Car is comfortable enough, and I even have Eibach Sways as well. Epics springs are closer to the spring rate of the RCE Blacks. If you want 18's to look right, may want to go RCE Black or Epic though as the Wheel gap won't look quite right IMO with RCE yellows on 18's...too much gap.

This is my current dilemma, I cant decide on which springs. Its down to the following options: Eibachs w/Konis, RCE blacks w/Konis or RCE blacks with Bilsteins. I went with the 18" wheels and need the suspension now. Thanks for the help everyone.

GTWorx/Bilstein Sportcup struts/shocks, RCE Yellow springs. 18x8 +45mm wheels, 235/40 tire. Sure, it's not tucking tire, but it's darn near perfect in my eyes for a functional setup that still looks good. Quote:

Had my RCE yellow/Bilsteins for 3 years. I just switched to the middle clip in the rear after having it raised by 5mm which for my car wasn't level, but my thinking was that since I have 2 kids, that it would make it more level when riding around with them. Any, set it in the middle first and see what you think. It WILL look hiked in the rear if you don't have it in the middle clip.
