Cool 2008 IAG ONE-OF-A-KIND INSANE DEAL WRX - ONLY 12k!

the car is located in silver spring, md
mileage: 63,500
clean and clear title

for sale is a 2008 impreza wrx. she was built by worldwide-respected subaru specialists, IAG. at the heart of this beautiful creation is a full-race twinscroll turbo kit mated up to a borg warner 70/64 EWG twin-scroll turbo

NO MOTOR IN VEHICLE. CAR IS AT IAG. BUILD YOUR OWN TO YOUR SPECIFICATION WITH IAG AND WALK AWAY WITH THE DEAL OF THE CENTURY

when the car had a mildly built motor, the car was easy to drive and was a daily-driver. i have had many cars and this is one of the most enjoyable and easiest to appreciate. the unrelenting smooth powerband quickly reminds you how far she can take you if pushed. she is mild-mannered and smooth to shift through the six-speed gearbox. give her a nudge and she will take you with a stupid grin all the way to the end. it was truly just a BLAST to drive. the twin-scroll turbo has amazing transient response between shifts and the car picks up speed effortlessly moving through the gears. the detail and balance maintained throughout this build by IAG is noticeable everywhere and appreciated by many.

she is a one-owner car. i purchased it brand new in late 2008 and she has been professionally and diligently maintained and worked on through all her exciting transitions and modifications.

there is over $40,000 in parts alone (without labor) in the build with the highest quality components and dedicated attention to detail to make her what she is today.

i'm not crazy and thinking i am going to get anywhere near what has been put into this money-pit. rather, i'm looking to sell this girl off quick to free up cash for a new project hence have priced accordingly - at least i hope so!

ASKING PRICE IS 12k!!

How in the hell is this an “insane deal”? Kbb puts this car at 11.5k to 14.1k WITH A MOTOR, and very good condition- which means minor cosmetic damages and excellent running condition, you’re asking for 12k and no motor?! That’s not excellent running condition. And this is assuming you have a WRX premium not a base model https://www.kbb.com/subaru/impreza/2...tion=very-good

Just so I’m clear 12k for a shell and part of a turbo kit plus the six speed and misc stuff. Then I have to spend 10K+ for a motor? And this to you is an insane deal? Sounds like insane expectations.

that i'm asking for 12k without a motor. with an IAG brand new closed deck you're still under $20k. yes, an insane deal.

no, this isn't 12k for a shell and part of a turbo kit plus the six speed and miscellaneous stuff. you don't have to spend 10k+ for a motor, no. yes, it's an insane deal.

thanks for the message. sounds like you're not interested and don't get the value or build so not quite sure why you posted other than to express a negative opinion without any sincere interest in the vehicle.

if you have any further sincere questions and/or interest please feel free to PM me. thank you, sir.

Hey, whats the graph for? How can a car with no motor have that much horsepower. It would seem a stretch that it would even have one horsepowers.

GLWS....

it is so the buyer knows what the setup is capable of on a mildly built motor.

again if anyone has any sincere interest or questions, please PM me - thank you!

your original post is incredibly misleading.

12k for a car with no motor yet you spec out your old motor, and include a line about the "total amount invested" and fail to mention that the majority of that is not included with the car.

this is borderline should be removed by the mods.

i don't know how more clear i can make this car does not have a motor. it is in BOLD at the top of the post.

i updated the short description with "when the car had a motor..." for those that somehow miss this car does not have a motor.

i am not misleading anyone. i did not "spec out my old motor". i do not even mention components of the previous motor build.

total amount invested is before the motor build which was around 6k.

EVERYTHING invested in the build IS INCLUDED but a motor. all the mods, custom work, TS full race set up, meth, six speed, controllers, etc. EVERYTHING on that detailed mods list.

check out my feedback score on here and all other forums and i have 100% positive feedback for a reason. i always offer an effortless sale at a great price with the best experience possible.

once more, if you are sincerely interested and/or have any questions, PM me.

i disagree, strongly. i've provided clear instruction and my replies have been kind considering what i am replying to. all those genuinely interested that have sent PMs don't have any issues and i am glad to talk and answer any questions they have. all information and pictures are accurate other then a motor will not be provided which has been clarified ad nauseum.

> mfw people are complaining about $30k worth of parts, for $12k.

This is one of the most prolific builds and was one of the pioneer members of the 2008-2014 WRX community. The people complaining are people that won't be able to finance a car without an engine (no lender would), hence they are upset.

Good luck with the sale, this is a steal for the right buyer that knows what they are buying and are capable of critical thinking.

I dunno, could be that he lists an entire spec list for the (non-existent) engine, a dyno plot, and talks about how much money he spent to BUILD the car (the majority of which was IN THE MOTOR).

This was one of the most prolific builds for the 08+ platform... 3gwrx (now wrxforums) had the largest knowledge base for the new platform when it came out. Nobody cross posted to nasioc, atleast not often.

I must be crazy then or can't add up the cost of Brembos, custom hybrid axels, 6 speed, custom DCCD emu, Full race turbo kit. Custom IAG meth setup.

You must have dyslexia if you can't read the inventory and add up the costs sans longblock. A full race turbo kit is $5k alone - and has a wait list of 6-8 months.

If this build is one of a kind, then it can't really be prolific now can it.

monkiboy, what happened to the original motor? You might wanna specify if it failed or you pulled it and sold it to someone else. People may be more inclined to build an IAG motor for your car if they know that the previously IAG motor didn't fail.

It's a build, with very well documented updates since 2010. Prolific in the sense of almost weekly updates on what was done to the vehicle. This isn't an unknown user, that swiped a credit card at IAG and is now parting out, you literally have a date stamp in the below thread when every piece was installed, tested, reviewed - and a reason for or against it.

So it's a prolifically documented build. That makes much more sense. I'm still curious as to what happened to the original built motor.
