Default SD ve tuning

I have made the switch to speed density . Ive taken care of everything in the tuning guide. no cels and the car idles perfect with fuel trims within -5%. issue i have now is how do i tune the ve map? I havnt found a spreadsheet i can use like airboys for MAF. I no longer can use the MAF sensor so im at a loss. My only thought is to bring the car to a parking lot and have someone drive within a certian rpm and tune on the fly. I know this will get me close to where i need to be but there isnt a spreadsheet i can use to help me out. it seems a little rough to have someone stay steady on a given rpm. I would have to force open loop because the corrections take time so i will be fighting this while someone is driving. Any help would be great.

You need a accurate wideband and start off rich, then work your way to a clean AFR curve.

Or contact Dux10 as he could probably help you get a base VE table and go from there.

I can't talk to the Cobb software, but with Carberry SD I will log AFR / Learned % adjustment (Long term fueling trim) / Dynamic % adjustment (short term fueling trim) / and Final Fueling Base (target AFR) and the typical SD parameters like MAP, RPM, TPS, etc...

Then you make corrections to the VE table based on the learned (long term) and dynamic (short term) fueling trims... if the trims add up to +10%, then you multiply that cell by 1.1. Obviously you need multiple instances of the same cell so you can get solid data.

Once you get close with the trims, you can force open loop to really nail it.

Check out our Speed Density tuning guide found in the Help menu of the Accesstuner software. It specifically covers VE tuning in the "SD Tuning" including what to start with, how to data log for tuning, etc.

sorry i i didnt explain. i have a wideband already installed.

Mod list
built block-
built heads running stock cams for now
stock headers.
custom rotated hx40 turbo kit
1000cc deatschwerks
parallel fuel lines
fmic

this setup was running a dom 4xtr before i did the rotated setup. i feel like noob now since everything was easier with spreadsheets that did the grunt work for me. anyhow. the link Airboy sent i couldnt use since i dont have the maf anymore. what i did was copy a ve table from another map i found online and made some changes. i have gone over the tuning guide from cobb and because of it i can drive the car. good guide by the way. my issue runs from taking the logs and knowing where to make the changes. is it safe to say that all i need to do now is to adjust the ve table until im within 5%? how can i take my datalogs and turn them into a chart that i can see whats going on. thats what im use to seeing. Again i appologize for the noob question but im making headway but i dont have anyone to really ask these questions to. i have a datalog i took on the way to work today. If someone can look it over and help me understand whats going on that would be nice. my take on the datalog is that the car is running rich all over and fuel needs to be pulled back. Now i take the a/f correction and learning. add them together and get close to zero. for example. correction (10) + learning (7)=17. So i would go look at what manifold Abs. pressure and rpm this happened in and make my changes?

Here is the datalog i took this morninghttps://www.dropbox.com/s/zfoi30yhpr...12084031.csv?m

after some review and troubleshooting ive made some progress. i take the log. check the corrections and learning afr. then cross reference with rpm and manifold absolute pressure then make my adjustements. this works pretty well. Of coarse you would need to for knock and what not. I set my DAM to be at 1 after reflash and also set my d learning to not effect me going into open loop even though im not going into open loop just yet.

What im wondering is this. is there a way to graph my datalog. for example i would like to see my corrections over the rpm and manifold pressure so i can see the trend the ecu is making. Also this would show me any spikes. my issue is that im not to savvy with excel to make one. everytime i try the graph looks like a giant blog lol. I would love to see a graph like the maf scaler in romraider. anyone have any ideas or tips on how i can view the corrections in scatter plot form?

The issue is that the SD fueling table is 2 dimensional where the MAF table is one dimensional.

You can't really do an easy SD scatter plot like the MAF tab in romraider does.

Check out maxouni's spreadsheet for calculating changes: http://www.romraider.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=82461
get version 2.3 in that thread.

That spread sheet is awesome! If it works. I fed it 28,300 lines of data this morning and it spit out tons of corrections in very difficult areas to reach via some of the Cobb instructions with regards to the VE table.

My maf isn't scaled properly. Why doesn't Cobb simply put stuff like this out for us guys? Blows my mind......

Well, cause I know everyone wants to know, I'm headed out to drive for another hour and see just how great this spread sheet did on round one.

Thankfully I already had pretty solid data in the critical areas- but has taken quite a bit of time as well!

Megalog viewer HD can create a custom histogram showing where you need to make adjustments.

Funny, I just emailed them a couple access port logs so they could verify their ve table features would work. Thx for throwing it out there!

I normally use ecu edit but it seems limiting in some ways.
