The way I see it is that 'if' I can make this happen, great, and if not then I've still got a brand new RA.

As far as I can tell, this is all on you. Agreed. I have no problem with people who want to do their own modifications, but own up to it when you do. |

Nobody is going to close your thread because you got your feelings hurt. You modded your car, damaged it, took it in for warranty, posted a rant, got your warranty denied and everyone on here is an idiot?

We all contributed to the thread derailing, but the lesson here is a valuable one for others to see.. "Pay to Play"
Did your tune/modifications cause the transmission damage? Was it due to your driving habits or the car being abused? Maybe not. But Subaru will gladly deny a warranty claim for any reason they can. This is common knowledge.. just look at the rod bearing settlement. |

mud flaps can protect your car. More importantly they protect others cars. when in california my car group had a standing rule if you ran 200 tw or under tires you ran flaps. REASON???? so you dont throw rocks at the chase car. this was of course for canyon and mountain runs/ aka Touge. Maybe simi trucks shuld never run mud flaps... oh yah ITS THE Law for them!!! |

I blew my engine while under warranty, and my wife was like "well take it to Subaru to see if they will cover it" cause she didn't want to spend the money on it. I told her no that it was not Subarus fault my car was tuned and had bolt ons. so i ate the cost of rebuild. If you mod your ****, and it breaks. its not subaru's fault. If its stock, and it breaks, and you're under warranty. Then 100% they should fix it. |

I know while you're out there attacking the local canyons, for your Touge runs, with your chase car, that you're not worried about breaking the law but your paint job instead - damn "simis". Anyone else cringing at the fact you attempted to justify mud flaps with illegal street racing as being a valid reason for them? I ran R888s/R888Rs for close to a decade, on the street; yes, I had some rock chips but mud flaps can't save you from rocks being kicked up by other cars - a clear bra (again) can though. If you drive on the freeway then you're bound to get rock chips and guess what... your mudflaps won't save you from them. Bottom line: mod your car as you see fit, it's your car, but please don't attempt to justify your poor taste in "mods" with street racing - it just makes you sound like a ricer. |

## Lessons Learned ##
1) Be upfront and polite with your dealership on your mods (I think mine went to bat for me). 2) Call corporate and bitch when things don't go your way... but bitch politely. 3) Make an intelligible case. Mine was "Stage 1 Cobb shouldn't blow up my transmission." 4) At the end of the day SOA saw I was a repeat customer, and wanted to keep it that way. I think this was the most important thing. |

One rule I live by....when buying a high performance model (especially the top performance model) NEVER buy second hand. Chances are the previous owner had more money than brains and drove it like a 3yr old. Others may disagree. Good luck. |

why are mudflaps ricey all of a sudden? if you drive on gravel and snow they protect the paint on the doors plus they look alright on these cars.
the wing on the other hand, has no function on an awd vehicle. but hey, if you like the look all the power to you. |
