Default timing belt install with no marks

I had my helper take the motor apart and he did not mark the belt to reinstall. I want to make sure its on correct so what do I do?

what car? You can count teeth and mark them yourself. I know the 1.8 is 44 teeth and 40.5. from left to crank then to right cam, I believe 2.2 is the same.

its a single cam 2.5 98 legacy. Thats what I was hoping for do you think those #s are the same?

What 98 2.5 was a single cam? I thought that they were all DOHC setups until the 3 or 4th gens....

If it's single cam, it's 2.2 liters.

How old is the belt? Unless it's practically new, I'd go ahead and replace it. They're quite cheap.

It was a 96 sorry. I got it figured out runs good. Thanks for the help.
