Default Wachusett Season Pass Deal

UPDATE: Prices go up by $100 on Wednesday 10/17.

Almost that time of year again and after an awful 2011-2012 season, long term forecasts for this year are looking much better (knock on wood).

Same deal as the last couple years, buy your Wa pass through this LINK and you save over $100

To get the discount, sign up online and use the name NEW ENGLAND IMPREZA CLUB or my name Bill Garneau for the Group Name or Coordinator Name field.

Got my bronze! Third year I will be getting a wawa pass.
Last year was dismal and I waited till feb to really start using it. I thought it was a loss and I was going to come out behind. But then we had a super abbreviated snow season and I made up as many days as I could.

Same here, I usually get about 15 days a season in at Wa, last year was probably less then half of that. Fingers crossed for this year, everything I am seeing is pointing towards a good winter for NE, not so good for the rest of the country.

It would appear not, $199 for the college pass is a pretty cheap as is. You could step up to the plate and get the Jay/Burke college pass for $249...

Im in too, getting my pass this week. I may have mentioned this Pass Group to a few people. so you may have a few more people in the group. Maybe it'll get you some free tickets. Saves us all 10 bucks though.

Usually try to meet weekly after work, if any of you are there and see a group of subarus, possibly an evo and s2000, feel free to say hello.

If you're in college, get a pass from the larger mountain chains. You'll never see them that cheap ever again.

Sweet, I'm going to look into this!

On another note, Ski Shop Plus on route 146 is having a massive sale starting today. I'm going after work to look for some stuff and also dropping my skis off to get tuned. $29.99!

Working on this now... there's no possible way this season can be as ****ty as last year, so hopefully it's worth it.

I think it's pretty funny that people would base their decision to buy a season's pass on some crystal ball snowfall prediction report. It's New England. The weather does whatever it wants. Several studies have been done to determine the accuracy of the Farmers' Almanac for predicting weather. Results show that it's right about 50 percent of the time. In other words, you might as well just flip a coin and guess.

My intention is simply to share my excitement in the upcoming ski season after such a miserable ski season last year and to that end i've been sharing pictures that I've found to support the idea that this season is likely to be better then last. After all, it would be difficult to have a worse season.

For the record Farmers was right about last year...

2 passes bought on your group, Bill. Thanks.

Next year it'll probably be 3.

Quick! $359 for a College New England Pass. I only have till the 8th to decide.

http://www.newenglandpass.com/newenglandpasses.html

I go to school in Worcester, so the mountains are sort of far away:

Loon: 2.5 hours
Sunday River: 4 hours
Sugarloaf: 5 hours

Worth it or not worth it?

Loon sucks in my opinion, way to crowded I avoid it like the plague.

The pass would totally be worth it for SR and SL both places are really good but they are so far away you need to spend a night or two each time you go to make it worth the drive time.

I've only ever seen Loon actually crowded between Christmas and New Years Eve.

Agree to disagree on that one. However I just did a sanity check on Yelp, and i think the masses are with me on this one. Almost every review mentions how crowded it is

Posted today on Accuweather:

Quote:
Above-Normal Snow for Northeast, Appalachians
Above-normal snowfall is predicted for the Northeast, mid-Atlantic and central and southern Appalachians, spanning western Massachusetts to northern portions of Georgia and Alabama, this winter.
"I-95 this year in the Northeast and mid-Atlantic will have more snow than they did last year. However, as far as above-normal snowfall goes, from New York City on south and west has a better shot with more mixed rain and snow systems in New England," AccuWeather Lead Long-Range Forecaster Paul Pastelok said.
