Default Just got a 04' STI, some technical newbie questions...

I was told i dont need to get an aftermarket BOV to make it loud. I was told to do something to the stock one will be good enough, is this true? If so, what do i need to do?

This is the 2nd STI i tested drove and i finally purchased it. A strange thing i found is that the 1st STI i tested drove, if i reach to a certain RPM, i will keep a beeping sound telling me to shift, but this one that i bought, i dont get that. Is there something i m missing?

Please help a newb out. THanks!

Default oooh boy

Read the manual about the shift buzzer.. Just make sure the car is stoped and turn the nop the left one counter clock wise to the rpm ( may i suggest 6200rpm) and turn it back it will say BEEEP on.
The bov just leave stock
good luck

thank you, i will look into that about the shift buzzer. that comes with the turbo gauge or no?

about the BOV, what if i want that sound when i shift gear?
edited: i found out to take off the silencer in the stock instake would do it, yea?

Also, is it necessary to get a turbo timer? I was told i should leave the car running couple minutes before i turn it off so the turbo can cool down, hence the turbo timer.

you can also leave silencer, and put in a k&n short intake... this makes the cool turbo noises much louder in my car

Read the owners manual through too while you're at it.
