Will i have any problems running Enkei RPF1s 17x9 5x100 +35. I know I have to roll my rear fenders. I drive a 2012 WRX (Non Sti) and was wondering if I will have wheel bearing issues?

Someone who might dump their car without getting an alignment might run into issues. Regardless, camber numbers were what I was after. I'm pretty sure I understand wheel/suspension . Dynamic changes in height always effect camber and toe. When you lower a car, the wheels will gain natural negative camber. Last edited by sc00by4life; 06-22-2013 at 04:46 PM. |

take a stock height car. that does not have any wheel/strut clearance problem remove the strut and hub as one piece, hell leave the wheel attached. replace the springs with lowering springs. and re-assemble. you will have lowered the car without changing the wheel/strut clearance AT ALL and gained camber from lowering (the whole strut assembly angles, taking the hub and wheel with it) this is neglecting small variances for changes to alignment (that will be needed to correct toe) of course. but just playing devils advocate that ride height alone makes almost no difference in strut clearance. if you try add a lot of camber via the camber bolts that will lessen your clearance. but camber changes via moving the strut angle do not affect inner strut clearance. |

I called IAG performance and they told me it would fit fine so I made an appt with a performance shop for tomorrow morning. Is all the research I've done wrong? I feel like these wheel should fit without spacers. Perhaps I should have alignment done first to get my neg camber down to -2 instead of whatever it's at. |

Had a performance shop put them on and they fit completely fine. It remains to be seen if a fender roll is necessary in the rear but I don't think so. These are Rota Titans 17x9 +42 with Dunlop Direzza ZII in 245/40 |

18x8.5 vs 18x9 vs 18x9.5 (which one?)
Hi!
I need your opinion. which fitment better suits a 2012 wrx on stock suspension? I've been reading this thread for awhile and doing comparisons with the offset calculator but still undecided. I wouldn't mind rolling the fenders but would like to stick with the stock camber (if ever possible). Now these are my options: (a) 18x8.5 +40 with 245/40/18 (-13 from stock STI offset) (b) 18x9 +38 with 245/40/18 tires (will it stick out the fender?) (c) 18x9 +38 with 235/40/18 (might be too stretched?) (d) 18x9.5 +40 with 255/35/18 tires (this might still need fender rolling from what i've read) (e) 18x9.5 +40 with 265/35/18 tires (one of the common set ups here) My concern for 9.5 is that it's not practical for daily driving plus I don't want it sticking out the fender. I'll be lowering it with BC BR's when I get more funds. Right now I'm leaning towards (a), and (b). Please help me decide. Any inputs will be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot! |

Regarding fitament, it will depend on tire choice. I run those exact wheels with 245/40 BF Goodrich Comp 2 and I did not even have to roll. |

Hi texascanuck! thanks for the reply. so you think that's a better fitment? It's more narrow than the STI tires, but would the stretch be alright? thanks again!

not neccessarily a better fitment just different. The 245 is wider but taller. The 235 will not be a huge stretch on the 18x8.5 wheels.
If you go back to your original choices of a) vs b) I would go with a) 18x8.5 w/ 245/40-18. |

I'm looking to get Rota Grids for my 2013 WRX and would like an opinion:
Stock Size: 17x8" Offset: +53 Bolt pattern: 5x100 Tire: 235/45R17 Choice(s) below Grid 17" Size: 17x8" Offset: +44 Bolt pattern: 5x100 Tire: OEM 235/45R17? or Grid 18" Size: 18.x8.5" Offset: +44 Bolt pattern: 5x100 Tire: 235/40ZR18 or Will OEM 235/45R17 fit? The 17" look like they would fit no problems, any ideas on the 18"? |

Well, you can't exactly put a 17" tire on an 18" rim.
Why not go with a 17x9" +42 Grid - would look better. Quote:

I'd like to be able to get new wheels/tires without having to roll anything. With the 17x9" +42, offset looks good, 17" around is stock which is nice, but how does the 9" width translate to my 235/45R17 stock tires? Can I use my stock tires on that 17x9" +42 wheel? |

Yes you can use those tires but hey will be a bit stretched. 255 40 17 would be best

18x9.0 on PSS 265/35 on GR STi
Hey Dan,
Awesome thread. I've been through it in its entirety, but it seems examples and pics of this setup have been very sparse. I know 9.5 would be ideal, but the WedsSport I am looking at only comes in 9 and 10. Could do 255/35 but would like to stay closer to stock diameter. What do you think? 265 too much tire for a 9? Thanks, Mike |

Didn't mention offset since I am confident +36 will work with stock susp and possible slight roll to the rear. Thanks, Mike |
