As promised pics of the dipstick after the oil change today. I had 6013 miles on the car when i changed, 4900 miles on Amsoil XL. this time i used Amsoil Signature

this was 5 qts of oil, it set for 15 minutes before i took the pic.

here is 5.3qts,i ran the car for 1 minute also sat for 15 minutes before the pic

and this was after driving for 100 miles tonight. car sat for about 10 minutes after driving before the pic.

and I installed the fumoto valve with the same style safety plug Zeeper used. Nothing sticks down below the splash shield.

HAHA so 5.3 can rise 1/2" above the top when exactly 5.3 L of oil is in.

Yeah scratches and paint chips are super obvious on the DGM.

Same here. My dealership has offered to polish my whole car because I had discovered some hairline scratches after they had serviced my car.

Still in the same position, weird. Does make me wonder if .25qt doesn't fully drain out. I guess it would make sense as the oil quality to be added after a rebuild its higher

I would honestly decline. ive seen some really bad polish jobs with swirles galore. If you want a decent one take it to a place that does them on the regular. Most new cars arnt polished so the experience of the designated washer might be limited.

3 light coats of touchup paint works great and is nearly invisible to people looking for it.

Was a typo on my part too. But oil/filter change is 5.3qts and iirc rebuild its 5.8qts. I don't have my manual handy to look it up

I'll be doing my 2nd oil change this or next weekend. When I did my first oil change, I put in exactly 5.3 qts, and I installed a Fumoto valve.

One thing I'll be curious to see is how thoroughly the Fumoto valve allows the oil to drain. I believe the length of the valve's threaded section is shorter so that it doesn't protrude up into the oil pan like the original drain plug's threads do. This should allow complete oil drainage.

And it is tapered inside. My next oil change should be much less messy.

you are on preset 2 and u push up and it goes to 3, 3 follows 2. if u pressed down then its 1. how does that not make sense?

He's thinking of the presets as you would write on a piece of paper:
1
2
3
4
5
6
So the down arrow would move to the next higher number, because you would be moving down the list.

Did you ever wax the car? Just curious, I have the DGM too. I waxed the s* out of it right after the first wash. Been meaning to do it again soon. No paint issues yet..

On a side note, I used some scratch/haze cover up stuff and it worked GREAT on some light trail damage from driving real close to some branches. I was avoiding an F150 so the bush was a better choice I think more than anything it was the wax and clearcoat that got scratched, after how well the product hides the marks. It almost looked like we got keyed there for a while. I didn't care though, cause it's a subie and will get into some situations I'm sure... But a nice surprise anyway have a clean looking passenger side

So what would be the best way to proceed with this? The service manager did mention though that he would be present to instruct and supervise the polish job. So would that make it okay?
