Default FP HTA gt3076r

I can't seem to find very much info on this turbo. There are a few threads on the hta 35r's, and there is some talk about people sticking hta crap on their atp's and such.

Does anybody actually have some side by side comparisons of a hta 3076 vs a regular factory 3076? Anybody running one of these rotated? I'm thinking about maybe using one of these in a rotated rig instead of a regular 3076.

Nice turbo, they make about 5 lb/min more than a 3076. Precision just released a few new turbos that will deliver the same performance for less money.

Their website is never updated and for the most part, useless. Fortunately, I know their whole turbo line. How much power are you looking to make and is it mostly a street car?

It is almost exclusively a street car. I'm looking for 350-400 whp on a conservative tune with good spool.

I'm going rotated, the pricing is actually competitive once you add up the prices of up pipe + down pipe + ewg + intake + oil catch can, all the crap that comes with a nice rotated kit for about 3.5k is competitive with the price in total of a stock location turbo once you get all the supporting stuff.

That, and having a welded IWG tag alone for the ride irritates my O/C tendencies.

I think im going to ask people over on the evo boards about it, and I am also interested in some of the precision units. I want it to spool at least as fast as a regular 3076 and I would like it to flow as much as possible, what ever that may mean.

there are some good precision, and some good borg warners that could do that for you

The precision's interest me a lot but I'm not sure I would want to have to have a rotated kit fabricated. Do they share housing dimensions with the garrets?

Looking at purchasing this turbo anyone used it and have good results? Is it worth it over the regular GT3076R?

20g, looking for those numbers in a 30r your spool will make you wanna kick a puppy. unless you use a 30shot to spool I want a twinscroll 20g, would be an awesome rallyx turbo. 3in inlet, 8cm housing and twin scroll makes me DROOOOOOLLLLL.

I will make 400 whp on the 20g i have now ^ that without twinscroll, plus meth.

20G won't make those numbers unless he runs meth like you said. Is that an option he wants to explore...OP?

20g doesn't spool any faster than a 30r( I think maybe slower).... journal bearing vs ball bearing.... and 30r has way more capability... I think 30r actually takes the cake... , plus the op is looking for better than 30r action if he is asking about hta....

bb doesn't have any better boost threshold then a journal bearing turbo (assuming boost threshold is in fact what you guys actually mean)

I know I spend lots of money on bb turbo for better "spool".

Transient response, and boost recovery, however, does seem to be a bit better.

That being said, I have many many logs of friends with 20Gs that spool pretty darn well. (20 psi by 3400 rpm)

My current favorite is the rotated 30R w/ .63 AR housing:

You have a 52# a min turbo that will spool 20 psi at 3400 and a 47# that will spool by 3400....lol... Either way I like to judge by what the dyno chart (TQ)makes by 3500rpm, my 30r is making 300wtq by 3500 ( in 3rd on 6mt).... Let me look at some of my old 18g logs I dunno about that 20g full spool at 3400...Edit ok I beleive it , My old 18g logs I was hitting 20 by 3100 rpm...lol

closest gear to 1:1 is fifth fool, 3rd is not the gear to be doing torque curve pulls on that torque number is inflated a lot.

Spool up differs so much from car to car.... I do not have avcs (or Dual avcs) so spool up is a little slower to me...

07 6mt fool! 4th goes to 117 on the street fool...

There isn't even a 5th gear deal on airboy for 07 6mt gearing...Plus I think it would be deflated.... I just spool faster as the gears get higher so 5th I would probably make 300 wtq by 3000rpm.... So explain to me why you think the torque would be inflated early if I spool slower in those lower gears?

I have yet to see a stock location 30r spool as good as a 20g. I am talking 3rd gear LGT (maxes out at 98 mph or so) w/ AVCS.

I am (and will probably always be a bb fan) so I like the 30R, A LOT. If going rotated I think it is an awesome turbo. But as much as I personally hate journal bearing turbos, I have seen them spool very good.
