legit fuel system?
hey guys,
I'm looking at a used Perrin rotated GT35R kit I found on craigsilst. the seller said he would throw in his pump and injectors for an extra $250, he has DW 850cc top feeds and a DW65c pump. the injectors seem small to me, would those be enough to run this turbo at its maximum efficiency on pump gas? I'm guessing no but he's saying yes, presumably to get more money out of me. I can't find anyone giving out a ballpark HP figure for the pump either. so I guess the second part to this question would be, if his fuel system components aren't sufficient for 500+ whp on 93, what do I need? car is a 2009 STI btw. thanks.

You're posting this in the factory 2.5L section, so I'm assuming you don't have a built motor. You want 500+whp, you're going to need a built motor, especially on 93. As for the injectors, they do seem small to me too, but I'm an E-85 guy. I know nothing about that pump either.

850cc is fine for a 35R on pump gas.

No, you will max out those injectors before you reach a 35R's full potential. Unless they are the best injectors out there and you raise fuel pressure a LOT. For reference, I'm running a slightly smaller turbo and ID1000s with meth. Look in the power proven bragging section to see what a 35R needs (check comparable 35R, a/r must be very close to be apples to apples comparison).

I have a Garrett GT3076R BB Turbo with 850 top feeds. I'm currently sitting just over 400 HP with Meth.
I'm not sure how much bigger the 35 is though. |

Guys, Kelly brings up a good point, unless you've got the same setup as he's proposing, be sure to include your IDC.

When they first came out I put a set in a customers car that had maxed out dw850's. they maxed at the same psi as the 850's so I sent them to witchhunter for flow testing. They tested 870-880. I still have the test sheet. Id rates their injectors when tested with gasoline but the industry standard is heptane. Don't get me wrong they are great injectors. I'm a tuner and have tuned dozens of cars with id's and run their 2200's in my personal car.

T60R, idk my IDC as I just leave the tuning stuff to my tuner. He hooked up a conservative stock motor tune so I doubt he past the 85% mark. Same power without meth between ID1000 and WH850. Same flow explains that Guess I'll throw in true 1000 or 1200cc injectors with built shortblock.
EcuFlash doesn't work on windows 8 yet so I can't hookup my laptop. If you really want I can ask my tuner or get a local to log a run.... after I fix my bov gasket leak. Pressurized meth + 26psi boost + leak = |
