2006 wrx VF39 target boost question
The document for the COBB VF39 93 octane map says target boost is 16.6 PSI +/- 0.7. I have not yet drilled out the restrictor pill (which I believe is required) and I saw a highest PSI of 18.3. This is through 3rd and 4th... I have not hit fuel cut yet and have not tried boosting in 5th (fuel cut is 18.6). The car feels great and there is no bogging, misfiring or CEL's being thrown.
Should I stay out of boost until drilling out the restrictor pill? Should I even bother drilling out the pill? Is it bad that I'm hitting higher boost than what the map was designed for?
