SPT Boost Gauge
Just got this boost gauge in my 2011 WRX.
It looks better than I thought! I had read a few things online and I confirm that the needle sometimes flutters when you drive over a bump, or when you slam a door closed. Has anyone found fixes to these issues? As well I was wondering what my gauge should be reading. When at idle its at around 21.5, I've seen the boost go up to maybe 15. I dont know what it should be at. Thanks!

how does it secure to the dash? and how many holes did you have to drill?

2011 WRX 100% stock here and I also recently installed the SPT gauge... my vac at ilde is 19.5. I've actually never seen my vac go past 20.
Boost hits right about 14.5-14.7 When you turn the car off does the needle sit EXACTLY at 0? Also, I noticed you didn't install the final ruber piece that goes around the guage housing? I thought it added a nice final touch. |

The needle does not sit at 0, its at -1.5/2 I think! How would I adjust the needle back to 0? Thanks! |

I really like it! Does it do the sweep "anthem" when you start the car? Did you have to tear apart the dash to wire it and run the vacuum line?
Who has the best prices on this gauge? I saw them on Amazon for about $185. |

It does not sweep on start up. You do need to remove the instrument cluster as well as a few other dash panels to run the hose and wire it up, its pretty easy to wire since it comes all ready to plug into existing wires with splitters. The hose goes through the firewall in a specific spot into the engine bay. The amazon price is pretty good, I offered my local dealer $215 instead of $230 + tax and got it right then and there (this was an impulse mod that I wanted right away on the spot, lol)

Cool; thanks.
I just watched a Youtube video on the install; it's similar to the OEM gauge pack I had on my Evo IX. I'm reluctant to tear my new car apart and drill a hole in the instrument cowl, though. |

Yeah I hear you! That's why I had my dealer do it for me. Took all the stress out of it. If you can afford it this is the way to go, plus its warrantied for like a year so that's always nice. I installed the kicker trunk sub myself, that took some time but was fun. I figured for the boost gauge I'd let them deal with it!

That might work. My car came new with the STI short shifter, the Homelink mirror, the STI exhaust finishers and the rear bumper cover (plus the cargo tray), all installed at the factory ... it's nice when it's all done for you!

So if the needle is not at "0" when off then that means the whole gauge might need to be replaced? I did not see anyway to adjust the needle :-/
