Default Anybody looking for a WRX?

Today, I was at Affordable looking at a black S4 when I saw a Silver WRX. They're asking $22995. I couldn't believe it. Who ever owned this car must have really loved it. It has 21650 miles on it.

The black S4 has been bouncing around Fairbanks AND Anchorage and Affordable isn't going to sell it until somebody is willing to buy a car that has been wrecked.

If there is a yellow 2001 with 12,000 miles for $31,000, that seems suspicious to me as well. Something must be wrong. Otherwise, that's the deal of the century.

For an idea of the ballpark prices for used S4's in the lower 48, check this link.

Audiworld

Click on private listings and scroll down to the S4s.

As with all vehicles, they tend to be more expensive in Alaska.

The silver WRX at affordable has some big scratches on the driver's and passenger side doors.

The black S4 at affordable is a 2000 with 28570 miles and they are asking 28995. The yellow S4 is a 2001 with 12000 miles and she wants at least $31000. I've been talking to her since September. She hasn't had much luck selling it and she started at $36000. She owes $31000 and just wants to get rid of it. This is the same car that is at Fred Meyer on N.L.

Anybody wanna buy my WRX? j/k

Jesus, Winston, is it tiptronic or something?

Is yellow that difficult to sell???

That makes zero sense.

Where was she when I bought my S4????

Wait, I would never drive a yellow car!

*ducks*

Hey Dan, I remember that guy with the Silver WRX.

I raced him on the Johansson last year around this time of year.

They're asking WAAAAAAAAAAAY too much for it.

Maybe if they were asking for like $19,000, I'd consider it.

Isn't that yellow one the same one that had a slightly crunched frontend? Not any serious damage or anything, but I thought it had like a broken headlight or something for a while.

Yeah, Mike, the guy who owned that WRX in Fairbanks dogged the **** out of it. He also didn't know how to drive, so whoever buys it is a complete idiot.

Don't those cars list for $24,000?

Wow, I get a badly treated one for $1,000 less!

Thumbs down

the guy who tried to sell it to my friend said, "yeah, this one has never been raced at all, it is in perfect condition,"

i think its been at the lot for a few months now, maybe people know that the car has been driven really hard.

I went by there the other evening and looked at it, wanted to drive it, but the dealers at that time were about as useful as a tit on a bull. There were a couple of people looking at some honda next to it, then was like, "damn, heres an Audi, sheet they want $28k for it?!?! I can get one for a lot less than that" Basically, many who drive by, casually look at it probably have no idea what it really is, of course seeing it tear out of the dealers lot probably doesn't help either.

Yes the yellow S4 had a small crunch on the front end. I have not seen it an awhile so I am not sure if it is still damaged or not.

That would have been a nice car to buy, but I did not want to spend quite that much on a car.

As for Audis, how are they dependability wise? Are they built good? I am sure they have better trannys than a Subaru, but other than that how are they?

Mirezzi...how has yours been since you owned it, do they hold up good?

The known issues with the S4 have all been covered under warranty and Audi has been really helpful to owners that end up afflicted by these issues.

One of them involves the mass airflow sensor, which did in fact go bad in my car.

It's a $300 part, but it was covered under warranty.

The throttle body boot also ****s out often in S4s, but it's also covered by warranty and isn't that expensive. Audi Performance Racing even had a replacement for it that was more durable and it was under $200.

Other than that, it's been rock solid.

reliabilty-wise the S4 is as good if not better than a WRX.

given the choice of having the MAF sensor going out or having the transmission go out at 25000 miles... well... you know...

in addition to the MAF problem there was one other problem that i've heard crop up about turbos crapping out ... i forget the specifics though and it was rather rare. check the S4 forums on http://www.vwvortex.com/ and ask them... they are pretty helpful.
