Default 2004 Impreza 2.5 TS Sedan

You might have heard this already but Canada is getting a 2004 Impreza 2.5 TS sedan for sale starting next month.

Here the press release from Subaru.

SUBARU ANNOUNCES 2004 IMPREZA 2.5 TS SEDAN - JUST FOR CANADA
January 8, 2004

(MONTREAL) - Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) today announced that it is adding a special Canada-only model to its sporty Impreza lineup - the new Impreza 2.5 TS Sedan. The Impreza 2.5TS Sedan is expected to go on sale in February, 2004, and carry a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price starting at $22,995.

Subaru is adding the Impreza 2.5 TS Sedan to its lineup in response to customers who want the same great Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive performance, safety, reliability and outstanding value as the 2.5 TS Sport Wagon - in a sedan body style. The Impreza 2.5 TS Sedan will be well equipped, much like the wagon model, with the addition of some unique sporty enhancements: WRX-style 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels, 205/55R16 89V Bridgestone Potenza M+S all-season tires, and a wide-track sport suspension.

"The last year has been an outstanding one for Impreza, with the introduction of the high-performance WRX STi, the launch of the entire redesigned Impreza range, and culminating in Peter Solberg's World Rally Championship for Drivers," said Norio Osakabe, chairman, president and CEO of SCI. "Bringing the Impreza 2.5 TS Sedan to Canada adds even more depth to the exceptional Impreza lineup."

Like the Sport Wagon, the 2.5 TS Sedan will be powered by Subaru's powerful 2.5-litre, SOHC four-cylinder 16-valve Boxer engine, producing 165 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 166 lb-ft of torque at 4,000 rpm. Four-wheel disc brakes with 4-channel, 4-sensor ABS and Electronic Brake Force Distribution are standard across the performance-oriented Impreza range.

As with every Subaru, the Impreza 2.5 TS Sedan is exceptionally well equipped with a range of safety features to help protect occupants in the event of an impact. Subaru's strong, rigid Ring-Shaped Reinforcement Frame body structure diverts impact forces, resists intrusions into the cabin, and has helped Impreza achieve the highest rating ("Good") for crashworthiness in 40-mph front offset crash tests by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, as well as the Institute's "best pick" designation.

All Impreza models are also equipped with dual front airbags, passive safety head restraints and safety brake pedals, as well as the LATCH system (Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children) for securing child seats in the rear.

Like the Sport Wagon, the Sedan has a generous complement of standard equipment that includes keyless entry with answer-back chirp; air conditioning; cruise control; power windows, door locks and heated exterior mirrors; tilt adjust steering column; and AM/FM sound system with CD player. There is also a rear seat pass-through to the trunk for carrying long objects such as skis.
